well i don't know why i said moon ... i just think that the second one has a plot waaaay off from the origional even if it was for the future.

If people want a sequel they want a game like the first with more cool additions in it. I would have been happy with a similar plot and all the origional stuff, let alone if they added more cool stuff.

IonizedMonkey, of course you can start on the level again. There's enough time.
If you people aren't mapping then I would have to do it which would take too much time.
I can't say when we will be done with that mod. There are some ideas floating in my head like those sentinels/drones and different types of vehicles.
I guess that working on new vehicles is going to take a lot of more time. I still got to model some characters, one model takes me around 4-5 hours (Parker took me that long)

I would be happy to see some work on the maps, I haven't seen anything yet. Only that screenshot in the CDC workspace.

This jeep is a copy of the jeep from Red Faction, not only the wheels had been stolen The gun is all new, but it's using some skin textures from Halo because I can't draw them myself that good.

Red Frog, I think he was talking about the jeep in Red Faction 2 ... it appears in the game as a clutter object which is on blocks because it has no wheels and had no gun as well

getting a posse and driving around in that thing is gonna be soo much fun .

I got an idea that would be cool for the mod i but i have to look it up and see if it is easy to do or if its a pain in the butt.

I had no luck with the armsets yet. Noone on 3DBuzz can help me with it. I'm quite often on the 3DBuzz Forums now. Well, then all characters may use the same weapon (arm) mesh which is disgusting to me because I dont want to offer less than the original game does
It is just some small words I'm needing to make it work. But which words? I can change the mesh of the weapon in game, its easy enough. But I have to tell the game to change the mesh when the player is using a different character (species). Perhaps its not possible in UT2004 at all.

Actually AssaultMan, if you watch/listen to the intro to RF2, then it tells you about what happenned. And that Earth stole the technology back from Mars.

yeah, but its just nothing like the origional ... they made a huge leap from one plot to another. You go from being a miner that is part of a rebellion ... to a nano-tech enhanced super warrior hellbent on killing the leader of the world.

I was looking at ways to make custom loading screens redfrog ...

I was thinking we could put the RF loading level background in place of UT2K4's

Well, what the hell are they mining in the origional RF? ... got ya there!

I found one way which lets you include a custom loading screen with the map ... but that would mean we would have to do it for every map I am still looking for a better way ...

Duke ... i see you are talking about RF2 ... these "jeeps" were part of the origional RF and in RF 2 they did a reference to the origional game ... i guess to make the two games seem more related. (lets face it RF 2, was nothing compared to RF 1 ... im surprized they didn't make it another mining facility on another planet like the moon, or mercury or something ... That ... Would ... Be ... Awesome!)

Yeah. I recently found Red Faction II in the bargain bin at my local game store. (Electronics Boutique for those listening in)

Which reminds me, what do you guys think of that armour Molav uses when you fight him? It'd be pretty sweet to have in UT2004.

Nope because theywould have radioactive areas in the game ... i didn't see any signs.

They don't mention once what they are mining on mars ... its mostly just iron oxide, and ice at the poles.

so they are mining water and rust ...

well the game doesn't mention once what they are mining, all im saying is, people usually don't notice unimportant details. so yeah, mining the moon isn't that stupid.

Definitely have to have them space fighters as vehicles for this mod when you get around to doing that part.

I am looking forward to the possibility of expanding my clan to this mod.

Ok, i have been twiddleing my thumbs here the past few days ... Should i send you a voice pack example Red Frog? and to what email address?

someone should also put together a check list of stuff we plan on getting done and what is done too. That would be very helpful.

I played the full version of this game, and I'm not very impressed. I almost instantly went back to RF. I hope this mod improves my perception of this game.
