This mod looks like it will be completed.

The fighter does look a bit weird to me as well, maybe I am too much of a Red Faction fan and I don't want it to be change for this mod, well not in that way.
But either way, I will be happy with this mod.
REDFROG, I am just curious and I don't have 3 days to read through the web pages but will this me a mod or just...I can think of the words right now but it has to do with server packages that others can received and they wouldn't have to download a huge program in order to play it.
Also if it is a mod, will the new vehicles and weapons be released separately so others can use them on "their" server?
For now I will just sit down in my chair and wait for the release of the mod:

Man im chopping at the bit for this mod, I really am

What RF levels need doing, Im ready to try my hand at a more complicated design.

I will need someone to explain the whole Texture importing technique, and if my map isnt upto scratch dont worry about leaving it out

Maybe I could make an altered version of blasted Canyon, with more canyons supportable for Onslaught?

well lets see, i plan on making checkmate and warlords, you could try En Masse, if you dont want to, i might be able to. En Masse is very straight-forward.

I understand you don’t want the fighter to be a static mesh but perhaps you could animate other parts of it.

The fighter has a chain gun on the front that spins. It also launches missiles. I would say take the large blades off and make smaller duct fan system for hovering flight.

Things that could be animated for the fighter:
Chain gun on front
Missile bay doors
Tinny duct fan props and or duct fan doors that open and close when a player gets into or out of the fighter.



I really feel that making the fighter into a helicopter massacres the whole concept.


I agree with him on this one too RedFrog ... it just seems too weird. i would do the things he said and give the fighter a little bit of body roll to add realism like the raptor.

Oh BTW i finished the corporate guard VP last night ... or morning (i think it was 5:00 A.M.) and i made the corrections to the mine guard VP.

I will have a go, however Vehicles wouldn't suit that map would they. I guess I could make 2 versions, a normal CTF and a slightly wider corridor one for vehicles? I will stick with the normal one first. So how do I get the RF textures into UT?

thats kinda what I was thinking with the Blasted Canyon I was thinking of, making it wider, bigger and including somne vehicles. maybe Onslaught, but we shall see. I need some spare time first! event hough im on Easterleave from college, still hectic.

The default maps should be made first as they appeared in RF. Note Some maps already would be good for vehicles such as WWII map.

Yea, WWII would be very very easy to make too, just stick some bunkers with the UT2k4 terrain, its so cool.

you shouldnt take the RF textures and put them into UT2k4, me and warlord have been remaking some RF textures in higher detail, ill upload a pack of them later

Yes, I have recorded one.

I didn't know my idea was that bad I know an Aesir with rotors is no Aesir, and has nothing to do with Red Faction. But I thought it was an exciting idea Maybe I'll do what NoClanFrank said, and upload this modifyed Aesir and maybe some others as stand alone muators. (well it wasnt the point to create stuff for the RedFaction mod and then release pieces of it as muatators..but I'll do it for the Aesir if I'm not going to use the rotor version.)
The scripting, modeling, texturing and animating was too much work to throw the new Aesir in the trash

I think I'll do what E_Darkness said, I could animate the (very small..) wings or missile doors and leave the rotors out.
Only problem is that you can hardly see such things

It will be a mod, which you'll have to run through the command line, or you activate it through the "Community" menu of UT2004.
A mutator version like the Ballisitic mutator requires a lot more knowledge in scripting and some things are not possible such as a new Menu.
btw. I work on a new HUD. I'll use the classic textures from RF. Perhaps they will later be replaced with better ones.
Only problem with the HUD is that in Red Faction there is a circle for health and amor that shrinks when the player loses health. That might be not possible do to. I mean...not possible for me, but ppl with unreal script experience could do it.
Maybe some mods already use this feature. (it'll still be very hard to do because the HUD script is HUGE and full of numbers and letters.)

yeah it should add some depth to the model even if its only at medium to close range.

nah, actually this mod seems to be still making progress ... there is just alot to do however, i would say we are 50-75% done ... just because there are so many more things we want to do.
