Which version? Is it on the CD or DVD version?
I have the UT2004 ECE CD version. |

The DVD version does come with tutorials. I was given a copy of them but I can't remember where I put them. Too bad, since they were sent to me all the way from Australia. Which is the reason why I probably haven't tried the level editor. |

I would love to get my hands on a copy of them tutorials too ... i want to learn how to map in UT2k4
Ive heard Unreal ed lets you map two skyboxes ... which would make a killer capture the flag between 2 different worlds. |

This has already been done (From Angelmapper I think)
The map has another really cool feature. You can see where the enemies move shown as particles on your half of the map, and enemies can see your movements in their side as well which blows away all your tactics because everyone can see where people going to attack from
Goober, I've made a new jumppad for the mod.
In UT2004 a jumppad is just an invisible pathnode which pushes you up
The jumppad I've made already has a static mesh and spawns particles and sounds when a player touches it. The mesh is basing on the old shape of RF but with more detail. |

Goober, Grid snap is on (as afr as I know...) I notch the mesurement upto 64. But when vertexing, for some reason it doesnt grid snap right.
The measurements im using are as follows, hope its right:
RF UT
1M = 64
Thats right scale is it? |
Trying to find old players. Anyone about? Drop me a PM or reply to this thread:

thats how assman was doing it, so yea we will do that. I dont plan on making them to scale though, i just plan on making them as if i were making then originally for UT2k4.
Oh, and assultman, i know the editors choice has CDs, i have them, it doesnt contain the tutorials. |

I could check it.
When you export a level from RF to 3dsmax and then to UnrealEd the level will be too small.
You have to scale up the mesh 125% to get the right size.
(not less than 125% and not more than 150%)
When you work with an exported mesh you should scale it BEFORE you work with the brushes because when u scale the brushes they'll go off grid no matter what map-scaling you choose. (I think a scaling of 200% will not mess with the grid, but its too high) |

I never said CD ...
Oh BTW, my voice packager i was using ripped a big arse mess out of UT ... especially when i uninstalled it ... i can't run the Editor ... im just going to start from scratch (seems like i do this more often with UT than RF ) |

Lost important files? I hope not
Hey I just checked the Poll in the CDC, looks like many people want geomod in the mod. 12 votes for geomod, 14 votes for vehicles.
I'd vote for everything that is listened there but I think its not allowed.
I planned to use the fake geomod which I've used in the BlastedCanyon map for the mod. However, I'm not sure if it would work properly.
When I tested the map on LAN, the objects didn't instantly appear so you could look right throught them for a few milliseconds.
Not sure if I can change that, and if..would it take more bandwitdh?
But the biggest problem is that creating those geo meshes takes a lot of time.
I've been working on destroyable Lights, like the ones of RF. When their health arrives zero the game hides them. This might solve my problem with the geo. I came to the point that destroyable lights are stupid because the light sources seem to stay alive after the light was destroyed. I always found that was strange in RF. |
