yeah, UT is alot more different than RF ... but it lets you do soo much more. I especially like the feature that lets you download maps from the server you join.

Yup thats another point for UT2004. Duke, thats an awesome idea to put the erm, mobile armor in the game. I've been tracking threads where people tryed to create vehicles such as roboters, vehicles with walk animations and those things. Not sure if they were succesful yet. Of course this is a huge idea and may need more knowledge on UT2004 than we have.
It's different to play AS a robot than USING a robot as a vehicle. A whole new script would be needed for it.
However, if it was a "simple" vehicle modification, which tells the game to play walk animation when the "vehicle" moves, and to play shoot animations when it shoots. The arms would be the 2 weapons which can be animated. Wow I'm feeling that this could be possible..

But *cough* the model and everything would take years. I'm not sure if its worth it, I can't see a good use for this guy. Vehicles like the jeep are so much better. (remember, that in VCTF or ONS(if its gonna b used) speed is important. Not firepower.
A cool use for this might be a new version of the MUTANT gametype. This way the armor would be a playermodel. But only large maps could be played with it.

I've finished the Riot Guard model, really cool one, I forgot to copy a screenshot on my flash.
The Jeep has been finished, everything works great with it. The mod will need much more ground vehicles but RF offers none. Maybe I'll model the APC, not sure..

I can see the finish line, far away, but its there.

that is soo awesome ... this mod is going to be so great .

i really think we need to make sure everything is prime ... so we can really make this mod stand out ... it does already but, i wanna make it really popular.

dare i say its starting to look better than the halo mod?

Ok red frog, what Voice packs do you need and where do you want me to send them? (ive got some done ... )

Edit: oh @#$%, everything outside has a green tint light to it ... (it's a sign of tornado weather) and its the beginning of tornado season where i live!

Edit again: nevermind, the sun came out and things are back to normal

Will the game still say, "<guy1>just got beat down by <guy2>!" when you kill someone with the baton? Also, have you got the rail to work right? That gun made the game what it is, so to not have it in there is just wrong. Also, can you make the RL home at vehicles and not people? This would help balance the game against the fighters, but then again, it is hard to survive when another team has a buttload of HMG's.

I think the maximum file size is 3-4MB. If your file is bigger than that you can send it through yousendit.com, NoClanFrank gave me that cool link one day. Lego mod wouldnt be here without it/him
btw He is now one of our betatesters for the mod.

I'm not a fan of low quality and half done mods (Lego mod?!?)
I try my best on animating and modelling. I think my weapons really don't need to be hidden behind the ones of RF.(couldnt say it in a different way..) I can't tell how many weapons I've animated overall, but believe me, it were alot lol
The halo mod (mutator) has TONS of playermodels and they were all just ripped off. I didn't like it to play regular UT2004 with Halo models. I have found alot of performance and other issues with the mod. It only has 3 weapons, maybe I've got an old version.. The download sizes are too big I think.

Death messages can be changed for every weapon. Of course I will use this message for the baton (once its done)
The mod will also need a weapon that can repair things. I've been thinking about a special tool, but using the shock of the baton might also be a good idea. (don't know how you think about that idea)
Repairing a vehicle with the baton? hm But you would always have that weapon which is good..

The railgun still is a damn tricky thing to me.
Rockets somehow stopped to go after other players when I made my own script, I think it has something to do with the new Pawn script. Havent tryed to fix it, but its a good idea to have vehicle homing rockets.

Assaultman67, you should move your PC to the basement when the weater becomes dangerous

LOL ... yeah i probably would move my PC to the basement ... but i don't have one ... and my crawl space has snakes in it (my house is about 100 yrs old and sits on 3 large rocks for a foundation )

normally i wouldn't get too freaked out if it turns green outside ... but its just the combination of Green light, tornado warnings on the news,it being tornado season, me living in tornado alley, birds are gone and not chirping, and it is dead calm when there are thunderclouds moving really fast above you ... all of which is bad news for nebraskans .

i am going to send the miner and guard1 packs to you ... the others i want to tweak more before sending. (I think they need more acknowlegements )

more pictures? I thought I uploaded too many of them just to show every little thing Videos would show it much better, but they're big. Wish I had the time to work on maps, think it boring to show screenshots of the same maps all the time.

yeah, on one of the eariler pages i explained how to do it... the 11 page in fact half way down ... so in that space you would put RF_miner.RF_miner or whatever i had for the package name , for the character it applys to.

I will help you guys when I have a better understanding of UT2k4, right now, I know Red Faction like I know English, my native language. Just give me a little time, then I'll hop aboard this gravy train.

What about mods for RF in ut2k4, I think it would be awesome to see the Hive mod in ut2k4 as a sub mod for this one. Since the Hive team put out a Hive source, I don't think it would be that hard to do Hive

You both are great help for this mod.
The sentinels mutator was the best find ever However I want FLYING things!! I'm afraid that its going to take too much time to figure out how to make that, but I love to spawn drones and watch them falling down, using ragdoll physics when they're destroyed.
I love ragdolls. Everything must have it Even dropped weapons use karma physics I have quickly noticed that UT04 can't handle alot physics calculation, though. Today (yesterday) I found out a way to make the corpses lifetime longer without using karma all the time which is cool. In UT2004 a "DeRes" comes into play, the body turns into a green..thing.. and flys up. I've got rid of that.
I already said it that I never thought that I could do anything with UT2004 because it looked way too complicated..well things have changed..just go straight ahead and try it. VTMs on 3DBuzz were very helpful, yet again. I still have to learn many, many things..

I was reading in the earlier posts, and sense you have a model with the charge in one hand and the detonator in the other, then maby you can make the charge in the right hand and the grenade in the other. So when you primary fire it throws the charge and pulls out the detonator, and when you secondary fire, you become a nade tosser. Still have the mine/detonator *if mine is thrown* in the right hand and just use the index finger to pull the pin of the grenade. Only downside is no impact explosion for the nade.

I guess no one saw my earlier edit.
