Indeed.
Descent 1 was the first game I ever bought back in Feb '95 after holidaying in Disney World and finding two computers in Epcot Center hooked together with Descent running...
D3 was the reason L4Y was originally created.
I missed out D2... I had to give my joystick a rest from D1 
Which brings up another point... the Descent series is probably the reason the joystick industry exists. If you weren't destroying your hat switch... you weren't playing.
On a side note...
Smilies sorted. The code was looking at the smilie status in the initial post for all replies rather than looking at the smilie status for individual replies. Woops.

I want in - I am not the greatest player but I enjoy RF nonetheless!
Who's got the biggest server available? I upgraded my DSL and I am certain that I can handle up to 16 players according to the upload speed of 500+ KB/sec.

Its fixed in the code now so it will never happen again.
The first post in a thread contains the topic title, number of replies etc... information needed on every page of any given thread. Therefore whilst data such as the body of the inital post is not displayed on page 2 onwards the thread data IS retrieved for use where needed. |

I couldnt have said it better myself J/K ... when i play i dont look for a really hard player, nor do i look for really easy players, i look for players that im going to enjoy playing against and hapa thats why i join your server alot (and the fact that you play customs is a bonus )
If this gets set up and L4Y is playing to win there are alot of better players than me but if this is going to be just for fun then i would like to be considered as i would enjoy owning playing against the volition guys |

I think it was myself who wrote what he quoted about (the RF section of L4Y having its own direct link to Violiton). Still, I do not take credit for something that helps all out (in fact, I hate those who take credit for anything, even if they did do it. It is not important that x person did it, but that it got done).
That would be funny, the whole of L4Y (or at least the staff and prominant RF people in L4Y) against Violition's RF team. Basically, any time a Violiton noob member wants to get pwnd school us noobs, its fine by me. That surely would be fun (just so long as you don't bet the GT as the prize for the winner). Just as long as Frag4^ Alan (or whatever noob clan he's in. TEM will eternally school them (which I actually did (in WL, using the PR and SMG), but then in the next level (CM) he successfully used his HMG "skill" to get me back)) doesn't show up for it (not only would he be obnoxious, he'd just ruin the game for those who created it, certainly not spiffy).
Well, all jokes and that aside, who votes that Violition would completely decimate all L4Y players? Its like challenging God to a spitting contest. He uses meteors and you're using what's left after walking through the desert all day. Even so, these folks know the game completely and how to adjust for their own built-in inaccuracy of the weapons (yes, I realize just how many folks will tell me that "just because they designed it doesn't mean that we couldn't take them. We've practiced for years, and they just built it". That's like telling an artist that you can beat them in finger painting if they just provide the canvas. Aside, does anyone really want to kill someone who made one of (if not the the greatest FPS games in history?).
Finally, I vote that V-Allender becomes an honorary member of all clans in L4Y (that is to say, if you post on l4Y and have a clan, he can be an honorary member of that clan). I shall extend the first offer:
I hereby fully initiate V-Allender into the Knights Templar (the omni-gaming clan).
Sure, it was noob-ish, but he deserves it after his great work (well, there goes all respect people ever had for my clan).
EDIT: Why is n-0+0-b blocked? I thought you fixed that Garner. I despise having to use weak versions of gamespeak. If someone is a noob, I should be able to spell it properly. |
