well... sobe left on tuesday, and he is gone for roughly 10 days. Expect the mod to be out around next weekend or so... we still need some stuff from sobe before we can release the mod (portraits) and ill probably need his help that day too... We will need ALL the team members online to help on that day. We have to release the mod to all the UT sites out there at the EXACT same time with the same discription (i might start to write that tonight acually...) Mabye include some screenshots in the mods file...
Also, REDFROG, i havent discussed this with you yet, but im thinking about releasing a development kit like a few days after the mod.... which will include more textures in texture packs, mabye some more statics... basically anythin you would need to start a MW map, website, mutator or anything...
I also have a feeling, that on the release day, im going to screw up someone on the MW site, ill need sobe to BE THERE |

A toolkit for the mappers?
Hm I don't think it'd be needed. But yeah we can do one, as long as "we" is not in the meaning of "I".
I've posted somethin in the official MW forums.
I've done the Portraits myself...look not so good but we can't wait another week.
I'm not sure about another test version, I think that would be a bad idea (leakz! ), but the online testing was not done often enough I think. (see the thread in the MW teamforums)
Goober will your map be ready or not? When will be the images ready?
The mod is as good as done..it only needs some little work. (putting things together and make it look right..) |

I think there should be 1 more test version before the final release just to make sure theres no missed bugs or something... and so I can make a final trailer of the finished mod before it's released to the public. or does it even need a final trailer? |

A freakin gig?!?! ... not quite ... it is probably around, oh, 60mb at tops (correct me if im wrong RedFrog ...)
and i understand when RedFrog said that we should test online testing ... problem is there was very little coordination in getting together on a server ... |

I'll wait for the replies in the MW forum and see if the mentioned bugs really exsist or not. The next test version would be a patch only since it's smaller and the more secure way. However, a new patch would delay the mod much more and I'm not sure if its really needed. (not that much has been changed that would require testing. Most of the new changes are already tested while LAN playing and are not that complex..)
A trailer should be done when the mod is out..you can use the final version then, and real players.
edit. How big was the last testversion?.. it would be around that size. But the final one will have a few more maps.
I've been workin on "FloodedKitchen". Used my "old" map ONS-RFKitchen and made a deathmatch map of it. Not really goes along with the other maps but I'm sure people want a change. |

Sniper city will probably not be done... i need you to get some static meshes for the arched "bridges down on the road, the rest i can do in BSP 
Im not sure about the canyon map... i just cant get it to a state which i like it at...
The loading screens should be ready at any moment... All they really are are screenshots... Screenshots that will have loading and the map name written across them 
The last test version was 68mb and the patch was 32.2 mb... but the patch replaced most of the test versions files... so id say MAX 75mb for the final version...
I was thinking of making an "air only" map... like 2 floating bases hovering above mars which you can only use Aesirs on... but it would have to be ONS because you cant carry the flag in an aesir... |

Acually, REDFROG, how about you just take some of your favorite wallpapers from the MW website and use those as loading screens? Thats essencially what i would be doing... |

goob, i can think of plenty VCTF maps that you could do ... there is no need to open up a whole new type of gameplay ... Im not even sure if i set sounds for ONS since at the time i was absolutely sure we weren't doing it ... so i would have to go back and redo that ...
how about making two large bases on a open map that is somewhat rugged (cliffs, valleys, hills) and calling it VCTF-Rugged Terrain) ... i would love to just drive around in the jeep on a mp like that ...
Or you could do a VCTF based completely underground in the mines ... like in the beginning of RF (except bigger tunnels so it isn't as cramped for vehicles). You could also add side rooms along the main tunnels that have good items in them like the fusion, powerups, rail, ex ... I would call it VCTF-Mineshafted .
or you could make a DM in the barracks of RF ... or you could make a DM-based inside of a space station ...
... man i wish i could map the things i come up with in UED ...
Hey RedFrog, what are the plans for the spike robot you were working on in the earlier part of the mod? are you going to keep working on it and add it as a mutator? or have you completely gave up on it? |
