Yes it is
It overwrites almost everything *cough*
But not most of the maps and music of course.

But still, its better than 70MB (or what was the last testversion size..?)

I noticed ONE bug. Thats that the flag symbols are still the UT ones. We need to change the red to the pickaxe and the blue to the ultor symbol and make sure they cant be changed.

its so cool that now you can infiltraite bases and get to their sniper tower without them even seeing you! . Thats the magic of geo

Oh and just out of curiosity, whats with the MWDM-Sulfar map? Cool map all the same reminds me of Watch Your Step. Which still needs to be remade

Yeah..that missing flag symbol in the scores is one problem.
The problem I have is that I could not find a way to change the color for the symbol. (or how to use 2 different ones for each side)
UT2004 uses the same one on each sides, and I think this is for a reason. Its pretty complicated but I hope I can do this as well.
(the only thing I cannot do is to create a good pickaxe Oh well, I'll see what I can do)

Sulphur is originally from UT2004. I've removed the weapons and put new ones in. Changed sky, removed rain etc.
It reminds me of watch your step, too. I think its pretty cool in Mars Wars, altought its not really a new map. I just don't have the time to work on maps that take weeks, thats why we still need mappers..but this seems to be a story called: mission impossible.

The sniper tracer is removed now. (I thought you were pointing on it when I read your post first).
Imagine Sniper City with Sniper Rifles that shoot bullets with visible tracers...that would completely kill the fun.

Sniper city, now that would be a good map to remake and it was made by an official Red Faction mapper.

i would just make the ultor symbol and pickaxe and set the red teams default to pickaxe and the blue teams default to ultor ... or does UT2k4 just randomly pick them? ...

Oh and ive been feeling useless in this mod for a while ... is there something i can do?

like character and weapon descriptions? or something ...

I have been roaming around forums that have been talking about the mod and answering questions ... but that isn't too productive.

i also tried to record some of MarsWars but i got an error when i tried to convert it to Avi ... but i am not sure if this is a MW bug or if this is a "my computer" bug ...

Seriously, it would be VERY easy to recreate, and an awesome map

Assaultman, what format does it save at? i can convert them if you send me them, Adobe Premiere Pro or Camtasia Studio or Windows Movie Maker, one of them should be able to open most video formats

REDFROG, ill create those images if you want (pickaxe and ultor symbol)

Thats what I'm thinking, too. I think I'll build it, but again, there is not much time for improving, and thats what I wanted to do with Sniper City. (the map is just too good to leave the graphics behind)

alright, Goober, if you want to make it then go ahead. I'll be very busy with the weaponmodels anyway.

Oh Man! Im soooo sorry team! I totally forgot about uploading the patch! My grandparents showed up on short notice and i had to "talk" to them..

Ill upload that RIGHT now so i wont forget it again!

Oh, Assaultman67 I didn't get see Masako's voicepack you've sent me. (I often overlook emails because of the spam..I hate that)

Talking about chracter or weapon descriptions... if you want to make them then be my guest ( )
I can't write them for the characters..but only a few words would be enough. (better than seeing "CharactersText.xRFPlayers" or something )

Yeah it there the "ServerPackages=OnslaughtBP" but I just looked at the file size, it isn't that large uncompress. If they have to download the packages, they would be in uz format and would be compressed.
Did the file not download?

The thing that I hope gets fixed is the ability to run a dedicated server.

I don't know why it won't work for you. Have you removed the MarsWars.ini and MarsWarsUser.ini from your MarsWars/System folder and tryed after it?

And I have quoted your log file some pages ago, I've seen strange parameters which shouldnt be there at all. Mapmixer for example, and something with TeamConfig.
Also, there was NO -mod parameters in the command line. If this is not present the game will not load the map with the mod and will fail.
I dont know why this parameter was not there, maybe it was because of the other additional parameters, or the game wasnt using the new GUI controller

Dedicated servers are "launchable" from the ingame menu... I'm doing this nearly every 3rd day to test.
(launching servers from ingame is good when you change settings, after that you should use shortcuts which are much faster and (maybe) more stable)

I have 3 different installations of UT2004, and it works on all of them.

I have written an server manual file and added it to the patch (I hope) Perhaps it helps.
I may also have to write a mappers manual, explaining the new actors.

to all members: after you installed the patch, REMOVE the files MarsWars.ini and MarsWarsUser.ini from your /MarsWars/System folder. They'll be recreated when you launch the game
I've added this warning as a comment in the RAR archive..I'm just making sure everyone seen it.
