i think it would be cool if there was free space inside the APC and the back door goes up and down when you click the secondary button ... that way you could lower the door and let people in the APC ... ive seen this done for the helix vehicle mutator and it acts as a dropship in UT2k4 ...
only problem is that you wouldn't be able to get out whenever if you were a passanger and you can't see whats going on ... also people might camp inside of it with rails and it would become a moblie railing fort (since you can't damage your teamates with the rail) ...

WOW! Awesome idea! Although, it might ruin the gameplay... would be fun though
On a side note... just reformatted my computer, im installing UT2004 and RF now, might even install FarCry |

not to mention RedFrog would have to remodel (or at least edit) the APC ... delaying the release. i imagine he could figure out the door looking at how the Leviathan deploy/undeploy script works ...
I just don't think the time spent on that would be worth delaying the mod though ...
im not sure if it would ruin the gameplay though ... bot wouldn't be able to use it, only people, but mainly i worry about the rail thing ...
If you released it for 1.2, it would make the game completely uncompatable with 1.0 (well, unless they upgrade)
Also, people don;t like it when you change the feel of a weapon/vehicle/whatever in a patch because they get used to how it is before ... |

No, i was thinking of a mutator that replaces all APCs with this "Improved APC"?
It could be released as an addon, but of course, in V 1.2, all the previous addon mutators and maps will be included |

what i described was this ... it has already been done.
i think it would make a good idea if we made a dropship out of that huge cargo container space vehicle (that reallys just brushes) in RF ...
Part of me says "yeah, lets do it" and the other part of me says "You're ripping off someone elses idea" |

Yea, that would be a good idea.. but it would have to be a rare vehicle to get, and the maps would have to be alot bigger than Canyon to use it. |

Good idea Assaultman67! I've also been thinking of an "inner-life" for the APC, so passengers could look through windows and see each other in the seats.
I've also played with the Helix mutator one day, and when I was modeling the APC I got the same idea like yours with the backdoor.
I think it would look great, but its also a matter of how useful that would be and if bots could handle it as well because that is important to me.
Each time I fly the Aesir, and cross some teammates under me I wish I could pick them up. I'd love the idea with having the dropship but as goober said, that would require really large maps (and I love large maps.)
I thought I was going to upload the mod on sunday and told goober about that. But I still need some small things such as the splash screen logo.
I could improve many things since the last patch. All these small problems which the testers have mentioned.
Weapons seem to work much better in net-games now.
So, I'd say release is on the next Friday if everyone of the team is happy with it. |

yeah, just a few measily things ...
the enviro Scientist, the Sewer Enviro Scientist, and the tech all use the same VP: RF_tech ... I haven't heard that voicepack yet, if they are not set for that it is probably my fault for forgetting to do something like turn up the volume to the max ... also i have masako to get done and get to you.
If you lost RF_Tech or i never gave it to you i will ship it to you with masako ... i might make changes on the tech anyway even if you do have it ... |

I still havent tested since the very first RedFaction test version. my Unreal wont patch to ECE. i messed up installation AGAIN! may have to completely uninstall and re-install for the 3rd time. |

im not sure if it needs ECE? maybe you should try patching it with this and then try to install MarsWars on top of it ... |

I bought the UT2004 Editors Choice Edition, so the ECE pack was built in 
REDFROG, like i said, the dropship air and land vehicles could be a mutator... optional.
I installed MW Before Update 3369 today and it didnt cause a problem... but i wouldnt be able to see servers from 3369 |

Could you make a voicepack of them, please?
Take a look at the sounds, and tell me what you think about them.
I think they'd be good for MarsWars. Not sure about the character that is going to use it, though.
I think I should create a new patch for the mod, now..!?
I could go back home for a few minutes and come back with the patch.
I can barely find anything to work on the mod.. The to do list is empty and I could fix everything that was mentioned the last months. (I've done a lot)
Netplay should be as good as bugfree now and still has to be tested online..in the big way.
edit. sounds sent.
edit2. no ECE or anything needed. Standard UT2004 with newest patch.
edit3. so should I do the patch now?

the shotgun ammo-indicator works now 
I re-use all my previous map-trash for the mod. J/k..its a cool map for MarsWars. On utzone.de, (german site) people claimed that Red Faction is too "brownish" (brown colored), and they didn't like it.
I think original maps that doesn't really have anything to do with Red Faction are not wrong for the mod. WoC would be great, too imo (but that one takes time) |

A patch would be nice... but its not needed. If you can though, by all means, do 
Guess what i found on an old backup disc? Assmans old MazeWay map! 
Nod worked on a Mazeway map, but it still needs alot of work. Im not sure, but i might tell him that we will just use Assmans Mazeway and he can make score... or we could include 2 versions of MazeWay? Mabye a "MazeWay 2000"? 
Lets make a final To-Do list...
Things to do before the release (included with the mod):
- Get Assmans MazeWay map finished.
- Get Weapon discriptions in game (or are they already? )
- I think thats it! 
Things to do very soon after the release:
- Get the MW Development kit done and released.
- Get the "dropship" Aesir and APCs done and release them as mutators so they are optional.
Long Term To Do list:
- MWONS gametype.
- MWINV gametype and models/animations/skins/sounds related to it.
- Misc. Addons and mabye a V. 1.2 of MW.
