Make them scroll like the wind is blowing them gently.
Can you give a pic tutorial? |

Quoting Ninja~ | Perhaps you could show an example from this? |
i made an 8x8x8 cube to demostrate this, i devided the bottom in 4 by 4 squares and jittert them to show (hopefully) more clearly what i mean.
The right way:

The wrong way:

The right way is selecting all the faces you want to scale in texture mode, go into uv unwrap select all vertices and scale them, by holding down S and push up (or down)
The wrong way is selecting all the faces you want to scale in texture mode, and without going into UV unwrap hold down S and push up (or down) |

Ninja, both botht eh same if its only one face, but when its multiple faces that you dont want seams in between, your method wont ever work... Unless the texture tiles ALOT. |

Yeah thats deffinately easy to understand.. .. I create terrain Manually I guess because I rarely use Jitter I was not aware it had these effects. The reason I do it manually is because I dont want those added faces..
But if my method is completely useless then why is it apart of the editor?
Maybe because not all faces need to be textured using UV unwrap.
Quoting Ninja | UV unwrap is just more precise texturing which is hardly ever necessary apart from special circumstances, Surely not for texturing something like what pred has... |
Its up to the map maker how he wants to make the map, and obviously because UV unwrap rescales multiple faces and maintains its overall pattern with other faces...
Quoting goober | when its multiple faces that you dont want seams in between, your method wont ever work |
It depends on which texture you are using, and what scale you want it to be, and which faces you are applying it to, and how much of those faces are visible... as long as it looks alright thats all that matters.
Just because you are selecting multiple faces does NOT mean it wont work without doing into UV unwrap.. It just depends on the scale of the texture, what angles the faces are going, the size of the faces, and the ammount of them.
Also in "Texture Mode"
Move the actual pattern around the face or Rotate by obviously holding either M or R then pressing a direction key (the outcome will also depend on which viewport you are focusing)
So sometimes It might be quicker using UV unwrap and other times it would be quicker not using it.. |

I never said your method is useless, mine is just better
but yours can be quicker for some surfaces, I use both methods, but mine is better for non-smooth surfaces. |

i always jsut your method for like... a floor, because thats 1 face, or 4 walls, because seams woulldnt be easy... but for preds senario, he has tons of faces on a cave wall, it would look very dumb if the textureswere out of line... |

Go to Texture mode, select the face you want to scroll, right click Properties and add a value in the fields bellow Pan Texture. Scrolling textures usually require some geomod before they work, so do this in a place far away from the level:

BTW:I think you need to connect that "far away place" to your level with air brushes. |
