People like NCF's maps because he is popular and everyone has his maps ... so they are rotated frequently

He doesn't put a whole lot of detail into it, but he makes great gameplay maps, hence why they are on servers ...

Ive notice that maps that are frequently played aren't always the most intricately detailed ...

P.S. i am missing RED ... i can picture the levels in my head but can't express them, or at least try to ... im like an sculpter without clay ...

Also some guys on my floor started a Xbox clan ... but they look at me like im a n00b because i don't play games during weekdays anymore ...

I hear you Assaultman. I really dont have inspiration to use RED anymore like I used too. but I am starting to learn how to use Hammer Editor for Half Life 2 and I have to say that it is a whole lot harder than RED. Well anyways, here are some pics of the past maps I made, which some of them are unfinished or I lost them somehow...

mainly i have a whole bunch of unfinished groups of things, some as big as a starship and some as small as a TV that is scaled to fit RF ...

I made a really impressive cargo ship i planned to use in a map that was going to be a fleet of ships in space ... but i lost ambition ...

Heyz people , im back some of you might know me some of you don't, anyway iv'e been mapping rf since it got out, visiting L4Y reguarly, submitted some maps once in a while.

Well, this topic is really useful, but isnt really active unless someone posts in it, so i figured id show you some shots of my new map im working on...
As strange as it sounds, i got the inspiration for this map by thinking about... people fighting on a bridge and people fighting below...
Weird eh?

Map looks good but goober I think the walls might be too high. It gives the map a claustrophobic feeling. Well from I can see from the screen shots.
If a woman insists on being called Ms, ask her if it stands for miserable

Yes, youll be able to snipe/shoot out of each and every window in this map... It will be quite a big map

Im not sure if im going to keep it as a DM sniper map (the way it is now) or turn it into a CTF... what do you guys think?

Oh, and you can get up on the roof and use the crates as cover

Its been quite a while since i spent alot of time and dedication on one map and detailed it to the best of my ability... and ive gotten alot better in the editor since then, so this is like a colaboration of my skills... i also have started a few other maps i never finished.. would you like to see them? theyre acually quite good, i just lost inspiration

Sorry Goober, but to be honest, I think that map doesn't look good at all, the walls all around it look strange to me, and as said are way to high, the railing on the bridge with bend girders? doesn't make any sence. Why would someone pile boxes on top of a building. windows aren't just put into a brick wall, they sit in a window frame. Thats what I think, do with it what you want

Did i say i wouldnt be putting in window frames? No, i just put in windows to see what it would be like, im not even sure if the windows will stay the way they are yet anyway...

The walls are just temporary, they will be moved and edited as i add to the map...

There isnt any bent girders, just some fancy design made of some slanted bars...

well...I think it looks better than alot of his previous maps. Thats for sure..well anyways, I decided to start on another map too here is a pic:

Sceens latest map.

The whole idea of this map is creating duel area's for people to go up. champion keeps his position on the mover, next chalenger enters it. cease fire is held untill the movers stop moving up.
I'll be releasing it soon so you'll see Just For Fun .

What I was trying to say is that windows look better when they are in a window frame, if you want to just ignore that piece of advice, your free to do so.

You have put a Girder texture on your slanted bars.. thats why I called them bend girders. My post was supposed to be full of little hints, and a bit of advice, if you don't want it, maybe you should not post in this topic
