THQ uk have also announced that the name is Guerrilla and is also linking to the gameinformer page i posted before.

I think that Volition is smart enough to not make the same error twice, the receipt to make this game a success is simple, the only goal and challenge is to do it nicely.
From GameSpot article;
Developed by Volition (Saints Row), the game will be titled Red Faction: Guerrilla, indicating it will follow the same sort of underground, off-world rebellion as depicted in the first two installments in the series.

I agree for the mood, but I personally prefer a grounding gravity gameplay. They will probably continue to make space level, altering gravity can be a goOd way to put variation on the new game.

Pugh, gotta go find that game informer magazine. 
I think what they should do is take a step back to the story of RF1 and re-live the story of RF1 through someone else. Mabye orion or something. Never did know what happened to orion and the rest of the RF which sorta pissed me off cause after Orion secures Gryphon from Parker thats the first and last time you ever really see him. (other than in training)
I think if they try to make a new sequel like they did with RF 2 in the distant furture its gonna get ruined again. Personally I would love to see what happens immideatley after the miners get back to earth, though.
Instead of being a nano enhanced soldier who is part of a squad of super soldiers who act, look, and dress more like a circuis freak show. -_- |

Yeah and who made an april fool's joke insult last year about topic ?
I could belive that RF III was then already on drawing board and maybe first version of engine was being coded (who knows) and you crack joke and insult us. 
Anyways it is great that game is finaly officially annouced and I am putting good bets that this will rock the house around even more than original one did... And I really hope that Volition is behind this title too. And that they support open source content creation tools like Blender etc. since not everyone has access to 3D studio max etc. legaly.
PS. And everyone who disrates open source, try before say a darn thing. |

Exactly what I've always wanted to know! When I heard they were making a sequel I was hoping that's what it'd be about. I couldn't even get through the first level of RF2 though..... it was a painful experience. They took a beautiful thing and absolutely destroyed it.  |

My thoughts would be on a title such as "Red Faction: Guerrilla" it would do something similar to FarCry or Crysis, through a terrain'd rainforest, etc. with a mission to stop the Guerrilla's from killing civilians or something.
All just thoughts in my head boggling around. I wouldn't mind to see a type of setting like this, but would much rather love to see a original story structure behind the new RedFaction. |
