If it has a half decent editor then I guess an RF3 section will be added to L4Y

There is already and has been for a while a Red Faction 3 section. It's just that non-staff members don't have access to it.
Man if guys could see the screen shots and video we have of the game it would be an incledidle thing....Since it's basically blank right now.

Maybe I'll ask him for an advance copy whenever it's ready.......

Now that wouold be sweet. I myself wouldn't want an advance copy. I would just want to be able to buy it when it comes out. I wouldn't mine paying FULL RETAIL if it had online multiplayer.

Honestly, I'm hoping it will be a Steam release right from the get-go. I don't like having to keep track of CD/DvD's for every game I own (seriously, that's a lot).

Steam? I found that to be a real pain in the GM. It semed to be doing stuff when i didn't want it to. On dialup it was a nightmare when it was wanting to download upgrades and all I wanted to do was play offline.

Off topic
I've been told that somebody is making a:
Red Faction Mod for Half Life 2 ?
Red Faction: Source New Map Media ?

If all goes well, I might have to reinstall Half Life 2 again AND I will have to PUT UP with Steam again.
Steam is the reason why I removed the game after I finished the single player campaign.

What really disappointed me with RF2 was the NO ONLINE. I bought the game in hopes that they would somehow make a patch that would allow it. They didn't. I played the single player twice. I played a few bot matches but it wasn't as challenging as playing against others in the real world that we know as the Internet.
In conclusion, I hope that they include an editor and multiplayer.

Hehehe, yep. Steam is about as popular as a porcupine at a nudist beach.
I can understand the desire of game companies to protect their product... which steam didn't really do in the end... and the desire of players to get regular upgrades, but steam turned out to be a monster! If I was putting game on the market, I wouldn't bother about software piracy. I'd aim at making money in other clever ways like merchandise that appealed to the kind of people that played the game. Napalm scented deodorant for example or life-like gore colored acne cream.

Actually I love Steam.

No more CD's to loose/break.
No more CD-Keys to remember.
No more patches for a game, it handles that stuff itself.
Its usually around half the price and often even less to buy a game on there than in the stores. Gotta love the American economy going down the crapper - the exchange rate with the UK is fantastic these days
Once you've bought a game you can install it on any computer with your Steam account. Perfect for gaming at work

I find that if something isn't available on Steam I dont buy it anymore.

How can you loose CDs/DVDs? They are in my room and doesn't have legs And breaking them is fairly hard to do. (altough my Red Faction CDs are showing up signs of old age.(bad quality?) CDs doesn't last forever. I'm planning to burn them on black CDs (Ive got tons of CDs/DVDs, but those are my only holy CDs )

Each time I start it, (I dont do that often) it upgrades!!! Jeez what is it upgrading (slowly) every time? I'm tired of it.
Secondly steam takes 50+ MB of your RAM, all the time it's running. (50MB wasted space for game textures, sound etc.)
And it looks unstable. The browser doesn't seem to work perfectly.

I have steam running all the time i cant see any decrease in system stability or speed.

And i already have way too many cds/dvds that i am sick of em

Sure steam can be a pain from time to time but i have been using it for so long that i cant live without it

1)
CD's are notorious... only last week my Empire Earth 2 CD destroyed itself in my drive because the magnetic layer actually PEALED off the plastic disc. Last year my CnC Renegade Disc 1 cracked.

CD's are failures waiting to happen. Period.

2)
Steam is using 8Mb of RAM here. 8Mb. Nowhere near the 50Mb you state... 8Mb of 2Gb. Woopie.

3)
Cant remember the last time it updated on mine. Most games only update once every few months... having CS:S installed seems to update almost weekly but since uninstalling that piece of rubbish the troubles went away

4)
Not unstable at all... never crashed and it works perfectly. No trouble at all.
