To be frank, Viper is slowly loosing its crown as the #1 server, and the sooner the better.
I've got no problem with people every once and a while running mods that disable things... sometimes it's good to have a change, but now we face the problem that new players are being introduced into the game and go into Viper. They find the most popular server has these stupid modifications disabling the best parts of the game then they think that is good. The last thing we need is a fresh batch of new players sharing the <L-S>Clans stupid mindset. |

Of which is ruining the community might I add. Server-side mods that disable things are seriously just, uncalled for. A lot tend to say it's to "even out the playing field".... That is complete bs. If the creators of the game put it in there, as well as the fact that ANYONE can reach these disabled items, then it is justly a fair game.
I hope PureFaction disables the use of disabling weapons >< |

Just hang in there man. TrotSkie is but one guy working part time, he doesn't have the resources of a 200 body software company. Even tho I can't use Pure Faction on my Mac - I still eagerly await as well. |

Lunatick - Quite the contrary. This is unconfirmed still, but i assume that TrotSkies RailPatch 1.1 (the ONLY, EVER true rail patch for RF) would be included as optional for server hosts 
But i acually agree with Sobe. Disable the ability for server hosts to dictate which weapons/pickups are allowed in their servers, It is getting REALLY anoying AND ruining the game.
To add to what Hapa said, Digi and I have been working with Trotskie (Testing things etc...) to hopefully speed up the process. He assures me that he is in the middle of putting the final touches on Beta 1.0.  |

I want that taunter. its good, i like it. and i dont want some elit kick a*s program to block me from playing with it. so release this fix for the Nvidia 8xxx Cards separately. |

1. The fix WON'T be released solo, Trot has said that.
2. Why cant you just put the vpp for the taunter in multi? You shouldn't be editing game files anyway... Even if it's just the entity tbl for new sounds. It's still technically a cheat if it's an edit to the game which not everyone has. |

Big93... That's the point. I'm not saying we need to scrap Viper and its players, I'm saying we need to scrap Viper and transfer its players to a server which is not that bad. |

1. Omg. that sucks. i'm not planning on using Pure faction, i never was. i just thought it would be great for RF. all i need is the fix for the 8xxx cards. my pc is arriving in a few days and i'm not going to use another (bad) computer just for Red Faction. Seriously . its these things that make people leave RF.
2. Because it doesnt work that way. download it and you will see.
3. OMG People from UT2K4 saying stuff in RF is cheating. Also i'l delete all my custom models that use ui.vpp, like the P90 because using a different model is cheating.
Wow. I seriously need to move on to newer games. this pure faction is driving me mad. |

Huh? RF is my primary focus and primary interest and will be for years to come.
If you're not planning on using Pure Faction - Change your mind, and change it now. You'll have no choice soon.

Amusing how worked up you seemed to get about not having your custom death sounds. FYI they will work.
Update: Havn't been about to spend that much time on Pure recently. However, i should be able to spend all day tomorrow on it. |

No, because this Pure faction is forcing me to use it if i want to play on a modern computer, i dont think Volition and THQ are forcing you to download the 1.2 Patch, Right?
I'l have bo choice soon ? What are you trying to tell me with that ? that there will be no servers Not running Pure Faction ? I can still make my own listen server. wich gets alot of people in them most of the time (with alot i mean 5-8 people.) I like Red Faction as it is now, except for those cheaters. but EVERY game has this. in EVERY server you play in CS:S there is at least one cheater.
It will be your Primary intrest for years to come? I dont think so. dont be foolish, we both know that RF will have NO players left next year or maybe if we you are lucky the year after that.
Edit, Its not custom death sounds. i AM smart enough to know that custom death sounds will still work. |
