Hello everyone, i thought i would start another topic to discuss MarsWars Version 1.1 Development, insted of opening up our old 81 page topic...

I guess ill start off.

We need ideas from the community. Anyone who has played MarsWars have any ideas for things you want to see in version 1.1?

Ive been practicing doing 2 or 3 differnt weapon mods and little items... just starting small.. I think ill try scripting and making a new weapon tonight...


So what do you guys want to see in MarsWars Version 1.1?

The Rail scanner zoom distance is off. I think you should take some screen shots of the scanner off and on in RF and then do the same for Mars Wars. Using that technique adjust the zoom. Should probably do that several times. Also the Precision Rifle zoom speed is off and needs to go through a similar testing faze.

Make it a mutator in addition to a TC. A big deal of weapons sincerely suck in RF (rocket launchers are pretty useless; sniper rifle and precision riffle are pretty the same thing. They add nothing to one another). You did a pretty good job on the vehicles thou, RedFrog.

I would like a mutator that allows me to choose what weapons and vehicles i want to play with, using carlauncher or worm

i dont agree with that molo. A mutator that would let servers pick weapons, powerups, vehicles.. ect.. that are in their server would eb nice... but i fear it would lead to more idiots saying that weapons are noob so disabling tehm in there server... which would totally ruin the mod.

A Mutator that would allow the MW vehicles, weapons, players, powerups, and ammo to be used on standard UT servers WILL NOT be allowed. If it did, no one would EVER play MarsWars, they would just join servers with it.

Dedicated server for each gametype is a start!

Also, more popularity from the UT2k4 community so we'll have many games going on.

Playing with bots is fun but playing with humans is no contest.

In order to like the mars war TC, you need to be pretty addicted to RF and if you are it's just as simple to play RF.

You probably wont believe it, but over half of our players never played RF in their life.

No elements of MarsWars will be released as mutators. Period.

Mutators will be made for use with the MW TC. But MarsWars is a new GAME, not just a modification to a normal game of Unreal.

Well, how about a mutator that restricts it to RF1 weapons and vehicles? No RF2 or original stuff?
Those who follow the path of others lack the imagination or courage to create their own.
In my spare time I like to write game reviews for Game Revolution.

ummm it is only RF1 weapons and vehicles so far... but since we may be releasing some RF2 content later... good idea

NO UT2004 originals are available, or will be available at any time through MarsWars. Peroid.

If you don't want people to give an hounest opinion on things, don't ask them for one.

i always say that to other people.

Me and REDFROG have discussed it, MarsWars will not be released as a mutator. its a TC, and it will stay. We want it to be a new game running on UT2004 and UE2. Not just a little modification to unreal.

Well then, I guess I should try the current version of the MarsWars before I make any more suggestions.

Oh, and Goober, you forgot to un-sticky the last MarsWars thread. What's the point of having a closed sticky thread?
