Assaultman your ideas sound good!
But the canyon should be splitted up into 2 canyons or so.
I mean it is better to have two ways leading to a base.
Damn that would be cool to fly to the enemy base with the aesir and blow down some bunkers, towers and walls!
The APC wouldnt do too bad in such a map, too. I think I'll give it a try, Mars Wars definitely needs things like that.

Ive been working on a new "Blasted Canyon" map, not rhe multi verson, but an acually canyon that was blasted

REDFROG, i also sent you another PM about.... well i dont want to publically discuss it until we decide on it...

For the style of the base on the ends of the canyon(s) (execpt in a canyon and not a cave ).

and the canyon should look like this linking the bases:

technominal.com may be going down tomorrow(Tuesday, June 13th) for a server hosting switch. I may be switching hosts. And it may take a while for the DNS to propogate again

I've started with the canyon map, I think its going to be great with vehicles. It took me the whole day to create one of these walls and the towers because they'll be destroyable. It takes a few minutes to create the tower, but it takes hours to cut it in pieces...it'll be worth the work.

The railgun crashed my PC, too. I knew it was a problem with the high trace distance When you shoot the railgun in the center of the map in direction to the enemy base the game wont crash, but it crashes when you shoot at the enemy base from your own base...the game does a lot of calculating due to all the penetrating.
Its fixed now

The new CTF flag finally works, too. The vertex animation looked unsmooth at first but its all good now with the new animation. I've used the cloth physics from havok to simulate wind on it. (I think epic done it the same way for their flags) And it looks much better than just noise modifiers

And beyond that, I may be getting UT2k4 the next time I run by Wal-Mart!

edit.
I just realised after looking at the screenshots that the player should not be able to use the 3Rd person camera while he's using the jeep MG. It would add so much atmopshere to the game.
Or maybe its just a bad idea I don't know how tricky the MG would be to use that way, and I dont know if it is possible to do that in the script. (I'm sure it is..but most likely not for me )

Same to the driver of the jeep, aesir etc.
