Hey I like DM as well but I just like running over over players. I just pretend that they are people that cut me off in traffic on the way home.
I did test the newer version but I just miss the vehicles, even if they aren't from Red Faction. |

im sure you'll appreciate the jeep though ... i was crusing with my homeboy parker doing drivebys on the blue side .
and the thing gets major air when it happens to hit another jeep thats lower than it.
It also good for ramming . |

Assaultman67, you said that the Jeep gets major air when you crash into a lower jeep? What did you and your homies crash into a dropped Jeep with other homies.

lol NoClanFrank, if you like both DM and running over players, you should get the VDM and VTDM mod. I have it, but I forgot where it was.
By the way, can't wait for the release, even though I have to...but hey...waiting isn't such a bad thing..well...maybe in..uhh ermm..nevermind.... |

Ok guys, I havent been paying the attention I need to. I didnt consider myself good enough to contribute, but i have found some EXCELLENT tutorials that will help me with Outside areas, Static Meshes etc... I couldn't get the hang of alot and the help here wasnt much better, so look out for my new mapping skills lol! |

Sorry that I havent been here for some time.
The mod needs a lot more maps. And I'm not too happy with remake maps only. Goober I don't know how much you've done on the map Checkmate yet, I hope not too much because I've made it a few days ago. Checkmate is a very good map. I'm afraid that the mod will not have enough maps for the release...well there will be no release without em
I've fixed some things again. I've written new pathnodes that are inactive by default. These can be triggered by smashable actors which then become active and the bots can go through the hole. I was trying to write a code to tell the bots to shoot the walls but that never worked. Bot AI is much too difficult.
The new pathnodes are very helpful. Without them, the bots wouldnt know if there was a wall or not.
The crash problem sounds strange. The railgun never ever crashed my game. Did the game crash because YOU were using the railgun, or did it crash because a bot was using it?
Or did you play online and it crashed? |

I was using instant action mode and a bot must of used the rail gun because I didn't.. |

Good news, im remaking some of my old RF custom maps, and making a few new MarsWars maps 
ill say that the release should be ready around July 15th, and should be fully beta tested and finilized for the 20th... having a "deadline" might make us work a bit harder (not that you havent )

I was doing the same as DVL_IAC ... i have been playing MarsWars alot lately trying to narrow down the problem ...
ive noticed that the problem happened only in the Art of War map and it occured when one of the bots fired the rail ... the map itself could be causing the error or the rail doesn't like the VCTF game mode probably because of the vehicles in it ...
my guess it there could be an issue with the rail and vehicles (although i haven't seen the bots rail a jeep and cause the problem )...
Although i have seen them rail jeeps before and nothing happened
It just seems too odd that it works in every other gametype but the one with vehicles in it ...
Edit: oh, and it happens quicker with the more bots you have (duh ) |

Hm that could be it.
But The art of war is also the biggest map, perhaps the game cant calculate so much information at one.
I remember there was once a big "lag" on TheArtOfWar and I think it was a railgun, but it didnt crash (I thought my PC was loading something). I havent been testing the newest version of TAOW a lot.
I've set some values to a much higher number, so the railgun would always piece the walls if there was enough strength left.
Is it just me or is killing with the railgun easier in UT2004?
I havent played RF online for a long time, and singleplayer is different. I think I must shrink the detection radius for the scanner.
I mean, you can often see the red players OUT of the scope field (on the black borders) and that isnt good 
July15th? A deadline? .. 
I have no idea when the mod will be ready for release. It all depends on the maps. (and other small things..)
I still have to finish the Aesir and APC. (and some fixes for the jeep, too)
The VCTF mode makes no sense without having any maps for it. I need some inspiration really soon. |

Yes you can ... i think there will be some extreme camping in online games ...
Ive been thinking about the one part in singleplayer RF where you and another miner go through a long canyon where you pick off those mercs in the caynon ...
i think a good map would be one similar to that one ... you could put pillboxes, rock overpasses and other stuff up high on the sides of the caynon for ambushes ... and to give the same feeling of alertness that the caynon in the game gave us ... of course you don't want to make it easy too get there (like teleports directly from base) because camping would be to easy ... but if you made it a long walk to a jump pad or ladder that would take you to the place above it would discourage those with short attention spans ... At the end of each canyon you could put a base similar to the one you land in when flying the aesir with "the weasel"( ) .
man i wish i could map well For UT2k4 ...
