lazyban still rules because Its so old (2003) and helped community while RF was still thriving..
PureFaction will certainly change the way RF plays and feels for me... As I liked the way things were and have been since they put on the shelf.. Things like banning modders manually was always just the way It had to be done.. and them dealt with. |

Lazyban WAS meant to stop modding. That was its soul purpose. I don't see how you can say it wasn't meant to stop modding, if it wasn't meant to stop modding then what was its purpose.
The only problem with lazyban is the servers will not use it because they don't want the people that are not running it to not be able to get in the game.
If the servers would run lazyban then 95 percent of modding would be takin care of.
The same thing is going to happen with this Purefaction. Unless it is used by 100 percent of the RF players then it will never catch on. Just like Lazyban I am sure it will be given a try but when the few servers that are still running stop filling up then it will be tossed aside.
I just hope this troskie guy doesnt do what Subz did and recode his RF.exe file to get around the anti-mod part of his own program. |

Lazyban was put a-side when you typed ban and then the letter then theserver would suddenly crash.
But pure faction is supposed to smooth rf game, more options avaliable to select and hope fully with this security camera thing the hosters can watch game play while there having there cup of tea with thier feet up on the table  |

Lazyban was never meant to STOP modding, it was meant to BAN modders, therefore discouraging them. It didn't work because thats ALL it offered.
Pure will be all you will ever need. If people don't switch over, they'll be forced to because 99% of the community will. |

If Pure Faction is cleanly done, it have no reason to not be used by the community. Only the fact that is released with the Nvidia fix together and not as a standalone fix will preserve is popularity! All people that help TrotSkie in beta testing, PLZ, don't spray the test fix on the net and delete it after Pure Faction release, if not now!!

No one besides me TrotSkie and nick have recieved the standalone patch. It will NEVER be released or uploaded anywhere for obvious reasons. Any beta testers TrotSkie has fetched have been sent a Beta version of Pure Faction, Not a standalone nVidia fix |

Correct Doc, Pure Faction is designed to provide many needed features.
1. Cheat Proof (You can't deny it, No one has as in-depth knowledge of how RF works than TrotSkie)
2. More customization (Such as ms, enabled net meter and more to be added periodically)
3. Fully community supported (Made by a member of the community, for the community)
4. Supported (The opposite of THQ)
5. To make RF generally more inviting to any potential players |

Ok Goober you don't know a thing about lazyban then. Lazyban does much more than alow someone to ban modders but it only works if the server is running it. Just like this Pure Faction. Pure Faction is nothing more than another moddified RF.exe file that might do more than lazyban but unless you can find a way to make sure everyone gets it and knows how to drop it in there RF folder than it will never catch on just like lazyban didn't.
I can run a server with lazyban 1.3 and unless you have lazyban 1.3 you will not be able to enter the game. If everyone would have switched to lazyban 1.3 then 95 percent of modding would have died off.
I remember when all the popular servers tried running there servers under lazyban 1.3 and they sat mostly empty because 99 percent of the players never got lazyban.
The only problem with lazyban is it only stops the ui file from being modded. So any other types of mods won't be stopped as far as I know.
The problem is THQ would not make lazyban an official patch since it wasn't their people that wrote it.
And I hate to tell you this but more than likely out of the 50 people or so that still play RF half will not get it because they never come to L4Y and don't care enough to worry about a dieing game.
Don't get me wrong I hope the pure faction works out but the way you talk it up is like you know for a fact that 100 percent of the RF players will be using it when you have no way to know how many people will use it.
Besides the longer it takes to get it finished the more people stop playing, by the time it is released the game will be pretty much over. |

Ok Turbo Man, I know everything about LazyBan. All it ever did was provide a way to ban modders. Lazyban wasn't what blocked some cheats (Not near all, Very easy to get past if you know how), That was 1.3.
If 1.3 had caught on, 95% of modding might have stopped - for a few weeks... Believe it or not, there are tons of vunerabilities in 1.3 that can but have probably not yet been used by cheaters or hackers. The fact is, if 1.3 had caught on, We would be faced with MUCH MUCH worse hackers at this point.
I can join a Lazyban 1.3 server without Lazyban 1.3. I just have to have version 1.3.
THQ wouldnt make anything an offical patch because they do not care. Never have, they've always been one of the most ignorant, selfish companies on the face of the earth.
L4Y is far from Pure Factions "Home"... It was in development for long before posted here, and has at least double the amount of fans that are here at L4Y
The attitude we all need to take is "I will tell people" If someone hears about this "Pure Faction" and how great it is enough, they WILL download and use it. |

Actually, I was telling a whole server full of people about it, and Trotskie happened to be in there, smurfing of course, lol. Everyone was very hyped about it,....even the modder that was there, LOL! Actually, the modder just seemed to be pissed off, and hid his mods until he heard every bit of information, then he was banned!  Pure Faction is this to modders : Pure Faction = The Shock and Awe Effect! |
