No i don't believe I can  This Red faction sound stuff is really become a pain in the, ...  |
hmm try putting all the sounds in the main map vpp and see if they work then... you should hear thunder and crickets and stuff... theres 27 different sounds that play at all different points in the map...

I know it is going to work when I do that, but will i still be able to join servers if the have the level on it. Isn't it going to give problems , if i add the files to the vvp, and than save it., because the save date of my vvp, will be different from yours?
Ow and BTW what is the conection betwine the level and the music theme ? |

i beleive the song "my throat is an open grave" ties in with the fact of the graveyard and the skull in the map in which u can walk into it's throat.am i wrong? |

I'm so disappointed right now. I came home from work yesterday, ready for some RED editor action and what do I see? Well, the computer is not on. CENSORED udge! so I test the buttons and try different plugs. Nothin 
We had some bad weather for a few days, but i didnt think it was that bad. My pc survived the tornados that came thru about 10 days earlier and we lost power for about 8 hours.
My son has a computer that is right next to mine which works ok. (alot slower, older and no red faction on it. he's 3 yrs old)I'm posting from that pc right now.
I ended up changing out the power supply from his to mine and still no good  
Called for backup. My friend is the computer guy and tests it for me. Need a new MOTHERBOARD. 3 of the little tiny capacitors were popped up on top and I guess thats bad.
That gonna set me back a bit. I plan on getting this resolved ASAP. Possibly by tomorrow night. Don't count me out yet. If I have to stay up for days in a row with no sleep to finish this map to get it in this pack, then thats what I'll do. I'll be in touch with an update by tomorrow night. FKN FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW |

you can edit the vpp as much as you want on any map... the server only checks the date on the rfl file in the vpp so as long as u dont open the map in red and re save and re create packfile everything should be fine

Exactly!
also the other music in the map is like sort of dark/creepy music and the map is supposed to be dark and creepy

well, if everyone has a map on the ftp ill make sure i get the latest ones, and ill start up A1-dedi for em i got the most recent ones 2 days ago. anything new since then? ill go check now. look for A1rfu4TEST-dedi in the server rotation soon

As I posted earlier, I am finished. However I dunno if the VBM I have now is the latest of A1's... I am on my Uncle's pc with 56K modem and don't feel like reading from page 70 from where I left for vacation..... |

I sincerely hope you have not included me in that comment, RJ. I pulled my map mainly for 2 reasons, 1 was that i feel my close friend has been slighted and in support of him I felt it would not be right for me to continue and the other is, judging by some of the comments and the fact that my skills are not up to the standard of some of the experience mappers, i felt that i would be put down by the regular naysayers on pooppoopers in these forums and didnt feel the need to expose myself to that. In no why did I 'throw a tantrum' at all, however, having said that, I have seen some of the maps submitted and I probably should of carried on. at least my submission would have fit the theme |

the one on the FTP is the latest one i did. i think were prolly gonna have to change it tho, but anyone who knows how to make a vbm, can do it themselves. im pretty sure theres a few mappers on the list that we still havnt heard or seen anything from. i could be wrong.

only the young \"pissants\" (who would lose their heads if they werent shoved so far up each others A$$ES.) would dare make demeaning comments in reguards to a new mappers skills in a non productive manner. besides...judging by your first release, you would have heard NO such smattering at least not without them getting an eye full from some of the more well mannered and ediquite versed mappers in this project

being that music is art and like all art it is an interpretive form of expression, i choose to believe that the maps, that at first dont seem to fit the theme, may very well be, what is interpreted by the mapper. or just mindless nonsense they threw music into to fit the theme in hopes of achieveing a DL status that some seek so rabidly but, thats not really for the few to decide, but rather the masses. your map will undoubtedly be a sore loss to the pack as is ITCHs. i personally wish you both well into your future mapping endeavors. |

My big pc is a big pain in the a$$ right now. It's not showing icons on the desktop now, except in safe mode. Hard drive is still being difficult. He's talking reload the whole pc from scratch 
Some Good News
my friend was able to get my RFUmap outta the Hard drive, along with the textures folder and the multi folder.
What I ended up doing is installing RF on my son's computer, with all the updates, my RFU project, Fat textures folder, RF toolkit, Descent Manager VPP builder and also Photoshop 7. That's what I got goin on tonight. So I'll be back at mappin tomorrow. Big Deep Breath
