Cartoon..... Looney toones music
Games show.... Game show music
Public Place.... Elevator Music
TV show.... Their Theme show music
Holiday... Christmas or Holiday music
See what I am saying. Music one let all of us do whatever the hell we want as most of us add music in the end to give our maps that extra punch. 
For those of us that put the music file separate for those that don't want to download it or for MAC users, put a poster or albumn cover or ad in there to cover it.

If the theme ends up as music please make sure everybody uses a seperate vpp for their music!
I hate maps with music that you can't turn off. Half the time the music picked sucks plus I have to pause the music I'm already listening to or suffer a cacophony of craziness. |

I think if the theme does end up being music, that seperate VPP's would be the way forward anyways. Even have them as a seperate download perhaps. |

i think that if the VPP is small enough \"with\" the music in it, it should be up to the mapper wether its seperate or not. if its gonna be over the size limit, seperate VPPs for the music should be required. if the chosen music isnt something you like, you can always change the audio by replacing it with another WAV with the same name.  i think. |

Sobe, obviously you haven't been keeping up with the topic. We've decided not to use the poll. The mappers are making the choice. Send me an IMS with your vote for theme.
It looks to be almost a landslide, but its still possible for another theme to pull it out. I NEED to hear from the following people...

As of this moment, I have not recieved your IMS. If I do not recieve your vote by Sunday, we will consider you abstaining from the vote and the selection will continue without your vote.
Once the theme is selected, rules and other semi-important info, such as deadlines, etc, will be posted. For those of you just dying to get mapping, only a few more hours. For those of you worried you won't have enough time, trust me, you will. |

there is some kind of contradiction in the principles.
Mr Wizard is saying that mappers have to vote to elect the theme (thus engaging to map) and some potential mappers are saying they won't engage till they know the theme. |

Gee If its decided Music , the Amb sound has to be in the map, otherwize ya may as well throw the Music Theme out the window, just my opinion ! and Johhny_S>>, wot ever ya Name is , just because you make Hip Hop Music ,dont mean we have to take our music away from the Map cause you wanna listen to ur self,,,,, sayin that most music in maps suck cause ur listenin to ur self ,,, bahhh , Im sure You all Know what I'm tryin to say?...... lets just get on with it !! |

IMHO adding the music to the map vpp will make the map pack insanely large. True if music is the theme then people should have the music to each map.
Just think about when the final pack is compressed, the bigger it is uncompressed the less space you save by compressing it. If you seperate the maps and music into two then yu get two smaller uncompressed packs and then two smaller compressed packs... simple |

You confused me a little there... What would work best is whoever compiles it all should use WinRAR on "Best" compression.. unless you already do use that... lol. |

Well if those are the votes, then music wins.
Even if Beat and Freak-Mo both voted for something else, they can\\\'t beat the votes for Music, so MUSIC it is!
Just tossing some things around, but here are my ideas.
-Since the theme is music, everyone should have music of some sort in their map.
-Due to size, all music files should be in a separate VPP, unless it still falls under the size limit. The limit hasn\\\'t changed in all the RFU\\\'s, so it will stay at 10MB compressed.
-If the song contains explicit lyrics, the song MUST be in a separate VPP and it must be labeled as Explicit.
I think the way we\\\'ll do this is create 2 primary downloads. The actual mappack and the music pack. This will keep Suave happy. If people don\\\'t want to download the music pack, then they won\\\'t be able to fully experience the map. Also, we should make all of these Mac compliant. I\\\'m sure that there are enough here that know how to do it. For those of you who don\\\'t, ask around.
The \\\"official\\\" rules and regs will be posted shortly. You may all begin mapping. Once you get an idea of what your actually mapping, please IMS me. This is so we don\\\'t have any duplicates. In the event of a duplicate idea, the person who IMS\\\'d me first will get it, so make sure you send those IMS\\\'s to me soon. |

Meh. I was really hoping for other FPS games.. but Music will be okay. I guess it means we can make any map we want as long as it has some reference to music.. lol..
Anyways, could people please upload some custom textures onto here? RFV is down and I can't d/l any! |
