I saw a very very early screenie of his map... I could tell then it was gonna be good, I am sure he'll live up to his name

Not my best map either really, but I am more positive since I managed to pursuade myself to do an hour on it tonight... It's a bit rough round the edges and still needs a lot of work unfortunately, just been rather busy recently and lacking in motivation for RED editor
It's coming, it'll be released but it's not the best |

To those of you who think you are running out of time.....
If the 29th rolls around and we don't have more than a handful of maps, I'll extend the deadline. Nothing is written in stone. I would love to hit the 29th Deadline, but considering we had like 20 mappers to start and we've only got working maps, from what? 5 people? I want this pack to be played, so we'll do whatever we have to do, to make it the best pack.
As for my map, I'm still trying to decide between 2 different ideas. Hopefully RED will cooperate with me this weekend.
I'll also be doing some testing this weekend, so I hope to see good work from those of you who have already submitted. |

MadFerrit: I know that you have extremely high standards for yourself but I'm confident you can make this happen. It would be a great loss not to see your map in the pack. |
I am trying my best man |
I wasn't trying to guilt you...I was trying to be encouraging
...guess I failed.
How about this: Even a map that you consider beneath your standards would be far superior to most maps and a welcome addition to the pack. |

I know man, and I appreciate it
Feeling a bit happier about it after last nights session, didnt crash under geo either, got a few more tings to add as far as brushwork is concerned, hope it doesn't crash after that either Would be nice to keep as much geo as possible.
Question: I made a map once and at a similar stage it did not crash under geo. I placed some Non-geo Regions around the place and kept the level hardness at say 50. The map subsequently crashed.
So... What does one think is the best thing to do? Set level hardness to 50 and place Non-geo-regions everywhere? Or vice-versa, set level hardness to 100 and place Geo Regions where want geo?
When I suggested the latter to someone in a thread not long ago, NoClanFrank said I was a noob and that was the wrong thing to do But he would not offer an alternative suggestion, preferring to try to make me look silly than offer any constructive advice. Does anyone know the answer to the above question? Is NoClanFrank just NoIdeaFrank? |

IMO its better to make the Rock 100, then place Geo-Regions. thats what I always do. |
Trying to find old players. Anyone about? Drop me a PM or reply to this thread:

i agree with that, unless you have alot of space you want to be geo. if its possible make the level 50, and then add the non geo areas. just test for stability alot before release. if it doesnt work...switch er around.
thats the way i usually go anyhoo.

Hmm yeah I agree with ya Beat... However, this time it seems to be holding up with the level hardness at 50 and then a few Non-geo regions protecting a few things... I would like to see how it holds up to geo with a few more in a server. Thanks for the replies tho

an issue that came up with @@ANGE@@s map has come up with the daft map. same sound loop that doesnt work for everyone was used.
ive made the fixes, but dont know if it even matters, due to the fact that IMO it still has nothing to do with music. |

I haven't seen the map but didn't people like that theme so much because it was wide open to interpretation? I'd suggest we focus on the positive. |

OK heres the first screenie from my map - RiverRequiem... Im still debating which track to use, theres a couple of really cool Mozart scores which fit really well.

Oh yeah I need a texture for a large wine barrell. |
