Problem:
I like RF for the Mac.
Is there an easier way to use custom maps for Mac RF?
The only way I know of is to add .rfl and .tga to levelsm and maps4 .vpps.
The installer CDs for Mac RF do not create a user_maps\multi folders.

Please be aware a fair number of Mac users are also interested in playing custom maps.

Like the old skool Internet Sometimes I think back on the days of old and wonder why we even put up with that for nearly 10 years. Of course, I know why - we didn't have TCP/IP up and running because an organized IP service was difficult to create and even harder to rollout (new machines had to be built because old ones didn't have the hardware. So, to help, a few companies decided to use LAN hardware for the Internet. We're still being affected by it (your Windows settings aren't set for Interenet out of the box, but rather the old LAN settings. Cablenut can fix this). Same with how IPv6 is almost 3 years into its rollout, with IPv7 being planned before 6 is even up. The Internet is insane.
Here's a tip: if you plan to be a sys admin for a webserver or really any business, be prepared for lectures on the intricacies of TCP/IP. My eyes burn and I still barely understand it. (no, not in college, "borrowed" some books from a friend of mine who's studying it, so I'd get a feel for it. I've now decided not to pursue that course of action in my IT tech degree program. So what if I can't be hired at a huge firm or can be 100% useful to my company? Fine... I'll go back to reading about it). |

OK I sent THQ an email and this is the reply I got:
Thank you for contacting THQ. I'm sorry but the servers are down for repairs at this time. We expect them to be up and running again by November 24th.
There you have it. He gave us a date. Too bad it's a lot longer than previously stated. 
Let's keep our fingers crossed and hopefully it will get done a lot sooner than that. 
Just in case any of you were wondering, he did reply in a blue text font. -_-_

I just bet ya - THQ hocked the server at their local pawn shop! Now they are scrambling to collect soda-pop cans to raise the cash to get it back.
Or they are testing our faith and determination to play RF.  |

Been playing alot of rf these last few days, RF has its place ni my conciousness that wont go away.
tonight i played a ton of games... and kicking shell from game 1 to well i forget how many matches i played but i came in first in 90% of them.
also had the glory of railing a modder named "lily" in badlands, good stuff. she had been banned as soon as i killed her, then i got a fusion for my reweard. How much better does it get? |

But it does affect RF3, which may or may not be on the 360 (so many conflicting reports, I don't know if RF3 officially exists still or was officially scrapped). Maybe THQ's server is going to host a 360 nexus? If that's true, then it certainly would affect the RF master's appearance on that day. |
