i was working on one ... problem is i don't want to delay it for you guys if you already are have your maps done.
i could judge if you like  
Ive downloaded alot of maps so i know whats good and whats not. 
and yes SP maps are harder because of waypoints setting, complex plot, etc. 
Edit: oh, do you guys care if i use a custom skybox ... the ones in RED just dont match what im doing. ... and sory it took me long to post. (im going to mark this page to PM me ...) |

SPMC is officially postponed until 16 December, 2005. We shall retain the option to postpone it at that date if need be.
The reason for this: Assualtman wants to get in, Pred isn't done, and I'm not near being done (about 5% complete, thanks to the spectacular fact that I don't pay attention to a calendar (for the longest time, I thought we still had at least 3 weeks to go, then I looked at the calendar) ).
Assaultman won't need to worry about holding us up, as I think only S1lent_x is done with his map. |

yeah, well i still dunno if i would get it done. thats why i was thinking maybe i should be a judge instead?
... I should be working on my term paper due tomorrow and the journal due the 15th and the spanish test tuesday and the physics test tuesday. not to mention the basketball game tuesday too.  (tuesdays a busy day)
(im going to have a freakin ulcer )
BTW, you never answered the "can i use a custom box?" question. the one in red just don't apply well. 
If i have it done by the due date ... im in, if i don't consider me a judge if it is ok. |

im not sure if this is what you meen.... but a cylinder with 4 sides is the same as a box.. |

Vidi already answered that when i asked, and he put his answer in the updated rules section. You can use custom anything, including skyboxes.
I might actually be able to get the third level finished if these extentions keep up

Surely the extensions shall continue. So long as there is at least two people not done with the competition, it shall continue (we only have 5 mappers, and 3 maps released wouldn't be too great for a competition).
Just so long as the SPMC is done by a reasonable time, it will all go well. Actually, the SPMC was designed to be extended at least once (why do you think I was so insistant on the 2 month deadline? Everyone knows a quality map can't be done in two months. I just set it there to encourage people to map quickly and to weed out the dedicated from the jokers (in every competition, there's some people who aren't committed to it. The insane deadline was to discourage the jokers and find out who really wanted to map for SP maps)).
Now that that's been said, I suppose some people will try to sign up. The problem is this: if you didn't show any interest at all in the past, you won't get in. Assaultman posted multiple times about how he wanted in, so I let him in. The naysayers from the past will be rejected, as will anyone who has not previously posted in the positive on this thread.

Sure, a better statement would work better, but it was just a quick reference (I didn't actually memorize the Bible, but one alwasy needs to know where to look (and no, I didn't read the entire thing either. I am a failure in that respect, but many go without reading the entire Book, just so long as you know its central message of peace and understanding)). |

Gees Vidi44! You are such a dramatist! What does it matter if some people decide to throw in a few dodgy maps? They'll just come last in the competition, and we'll have a few extra SP maps. Big deal.
Also, you should decide upon a final date (perhaps in a few months) and decide not to change it. Updating the extension every few weeks is not cool. If you're worried about getting enough maps and mappers, then maybe some "advertisement" of sorts is necessary.
I suggest making a final extention of the deadline another few months, and spreading the word a bit about the SPMC. Maybe a link in our sigs, or (a single, unobtrusive) email to each of the prominent mappers in the RF community. If it's not breaking any forum rules, a mention of the SPMC at other RF sites would also do well. In fact, maybe NCF will be happy to make a short mention of the SPMC2K5 in the next update. It may catch more attention that way. A little excitement about this competition really wouldn't hurt.
Currently however, with all of the (necessary  ) rule changing and final date extensions, this whole thing is looking incredibly amateurish (which i suppose isn't a bad thing for me...heh heh, my mapping skills are still developing  )
And by the way, "Like He hath sayeth:" is very poor grammar. I beleive "Like He hath proclaimed" works a lot better.
('Hath' suggests a past action, whilst 'sayeth' describes an action in the present. In modern English it would read, 'Like He has saying') |

meh, no mod for me ... im not going into that much detail ... but the question is when is the due date?
I didn't get to work on my map today ... 10 pg term paper i had to write ... but its done now , sort of
and as for separating the good maps from the bad ... you do realize this will be my first uploaded file to L4Y (if i go through with it) . (i don't contribute as much as i take.  )
... i just never upload anything, don't know why though . i guess its because i don't see it good enough to upload.
(I should get my ralph wiggums voicepack put together, kinda abandoned that too) |
