I think you'll find that it is. All it means is putting in a few 'Load level' triggers into your map.

If you can't work switches, just make 'portals'

Bunch of rooms of the main lobby, a simple player movement trigger, and when they move into a room it loads the certain level.

I did not say it is going to be easy for the mappers.
I mean it is going to be easier for these who download the mappack and want to play the levels sperately without much trouble.
You'll have to open the vpp files and look for the rfl names if you want to do so, and thats not really comfortable, even if the names are written in the Readme, you'll have to add a command to the shortcut. It isn't a problem for me at all, and for all of you mappers, but there are some people who doesn't got so deep in the functions of RF.

elliooo, I don't see why portals should be easier to create than switches.

A switch gets activated by a surrounding Trigger region (Press use in front of it), which activates the load level

A Portal is a Trigger that instantly activates the load level event by crossing it. This might happen by accident and the player has to restart the level again.

So theres no real difficulty on creating the lobby map. Anyone who creates singleplayer maps or multiplayer maps wich include some specials know how it works.

The switches can be named like "RoMeKs: Star Wars the return of american idol" so the players will know what lvl loads by using that switch.
simple.

good.

Yes NCF, you can. I told you almost 2 months ahead of time, although I should've said it as a request. Sorry for taking you for granted NCF, it's just that we rely on your admin abilities a lot. Also, you'd be a very impartial person, ideal for linking all the SP maps into one download.

I'm too tired to read the other parts of RedFrog's posts, so I'll just say this: "what did you say?". I should probably read that again, but I'm too lazy and tired. Anyway, what purpose would a lobby have? SP maps are designed to be sequential, so you can't skip sections without losing the story behind the level.

Imagine what it would be if you had to read your own posts.

Not every single level-file should be available to choose.
I think everybody creates his own little campain, right?
All the campains are going to be added in one mappack, right?

So, if now there is a level with triggers that load up single campains, it'll be alot easier for the Players.
It'll be something like a interactive 3D menu level
Because there is noone able to modify the menu of RF

just make evryone pack there maps into one .vpp, if it reqires a mod that goes in another, than they put the mod and the map in a .rar with a readme explaining how to run it, than they can be distrubuted sepretily as they come in, than once the contest is over, they cal all be packed into one .rar someone can throw in a readmte about who won and what it is and put the rflauncher in to and distrubute it, launching maps is relay simple, there are plenty of documents out ther on the proses, if you cant figure it out it says alot about what you make your prioritys

So that's what you meant? Anyway, last night I was up after 18 hours straight working all day (plus the few hours I was getting ready, etc). So, sleep deprivation + REDFROG's lack of whitespace (separate your concepts into paragraphs and use complete sentences) = confused Vidi.

Anyway, when I'm online, I'm the ultimate multi-tasker. Currently Firefox has something like 6 opened tabs, the media player is on, and the news is on the TV in the next room. So, I tend to take a while to do things, and often will become disorganized in my thoughts. I wouldn't relieve myself of such multi-tasking anyway, as it is enjoyable to do so many things at once. Yep, I'm the victim of Information Overload!

Yes, a lobby would actually be best for making a massive VPP. However, when I was writing that uber-VPP idea, I suppose I shouldn't have said VPP, as I meant to say one giant file that we could all download. Still, the uber-VPP and the lobby would be best to do it all. I could donate my WeaponsRack group that I made (it would be ideal for starting all the SP maps, as you'd have all weapons available, and if a mapper didn't want that, they could use a strip-weapons event and have the player run over a pistol).

f you plan to use a mod, add it separately and design the map(s) as though they were meant to be played with and without the mod.

What is the point of an SP mission without HUD messages, or at least endgame text?
If I ever get to where I am going, will I know when I am there?
