Ok.
Well, first off, in 2012, Bush is eligable to be re-elected. The law says you can't serve more than two consecutive terms. Still, I doubt he's going to try for that, as he'll be so confused with all the new technology we'll have (he doesn't know how to work today's technology). Also, he wouldn't be re-elected because anyone who is president in 2008 would be charged with the duty of "cleaning up after Bush", even if they supported his position today. No matter who's elected, the major politicos will force them to return the US to its isolationist previous life.
Also, Canada will start a war, over precisely what has happened today. It's actually possible, for someday you could decide to get into politics, win, then remember what I said here today. You'll then prepare Canada for invasion, and roughly two minutes later, Canada would be under a nice nuclear winter (courtesy of me, the next governor of Earlivania, the super-state that is the Eastern US, complete with nuclear capibilities).
Actually, Fahrenheit911 was the spinning of Mr. Moore, and had almost no real facts to it. Notice half of what was said, then think on it. I myself haven't watched the movie (or any movie made since 2000), so I couldn't say what was incorrect. However, realize that Mr. Moore is the anti-Bush, to such an extreme that he'd do anything to make him look bad. Can you really take the statements of someone that predjudiced as fact?
Also, if Bush was assasinated, it'd be Blair getting the bullet. Don't know how Bush would do it, but he'd have Blair take the bullet. Either that or anyone who shot at Bush would miss because you couldn't aim a gun at him without laughing your censored off. Just think about how much he's [rec] censored [/rec] up and you can't stop laughing. Eventually you'll hear a loud obscentiy in Arabic then you'll pull the trigger, but until then, you'll never stop laughing (at least I wouldn't).

Also, to Ugly's post: I'll get a CDC up eventually. I just need to know who's on board and all that. Even if its only 2-3 people, who cares? It'll still be fun.
For being the first ever, you can't expect a big turnout. Also, we'll all benefit as this could start a major shift to SP, which may revitalize the RF community (we've been getting sort of stagnate, all these MP maps and no one's playing them). Since an SP movement is easier than a custom-map MP movement, it's a worthy shot to take. Even if this one fails, we'll have another tournament in a few months or so (which is why I refer to the original rules, which would have placed enough restrictions to allow you to have enough ideas for the next tournament), say around March or April (time of rebirth, revitalization). By then, this tournament should be known to all, even if it is a failure. Actually, failure might be the best publicity you could, if it was a spectacular failure (no, I'm not saying you should all avoid this tournament and not download any of the maps, that'd be a plain failure), such as the thing was highly publicized, then it all the maps were downloaded a lot, but no one liked them. It'd be a great failure if everyone rated the maps a 1 and wished they could rate it a 0 (no, I'm not saying you should make your maps the worst you've ever seen, make good maps). |

I don't? Ok, I'll take your word for it. Also, they have a lot of automatic censors around. Try talking in gamespeak (ow-ned, etc). If this starts to arg me off more, I'll write a thread about it, then we'll see how many people are with me on it.
Also Pred, although it was a joke, DG did threaten to remove your account "privaleges" (whatever that means, I guess he'll delete your account or something, maybe make all your posts require moderation?). You should probably tone it down Pred, as should I (we all remember the ENM fiasco. I "bested him" (starts with an o, ends in a wned) good, although seriously got in trouble with the "law" (Garner and other admins). I suppose that at the current rate, we'll all have to "tone it down", either that or skip the pot of coffee in the morning. |

Then there, you just survived your first insult. Sort of sad how no one bothered to insult you before. The only way that'd be possible is if you were some sort of mafia crime boss. Should I start worrying about people mysteriously showing up at my door?
If you'd like more insults, I could find more to exploit. Elsewise you'll have to work with the anti-Canadian stuff. Eventually Canada will realize that we Americans are making fun of it (anyone see the "Celebrity Poker Showdown" episode with Alex Trebek on it? In the end, Dave Foley makes fun of both his and Alex's home country by saying "You might have come in second place, but in Canada, you're a national hero!"). See, even Canada doesn't like itself. No wonder, they didn't even bother taking over the North Pole, and its just sitting there with nothing to do. All those tasty polar bears they could sell, and all that ice they could sell donate to desert people.
One final anti-Canadian statement: If Canada's so great, why's it so cold? They couldn't invent national heating? (that was just stupid).

It too bothers me that I must resort to angering Australia. However, goob took Canada away from me. So, to fill me strange obsession with insulting nations for no apparant reason, I must disown the country that harbours all my favorite people (and a country that I may one day actually visit and/or reside in if I got tired of living in the greatest nation ever).
Basically, I think its you (Pred), me (Vidi44), Ugly Donkey, and perhaps someone else. Such a sad turnout, especially showing the great skill ark showed in his latest SP release. If the numbers are this small, there's going to be no reason for a CDC, and whenever the deadline rolls through, the maps will have to be thrown in with the regular update.
Because of the small numbers of people joining, you are now free to enter as many levels as you'd like. They must fit under the 2 MB compressed rule, however you can now break your genius between several levels. Yes, I realize that if you did this, you couldn't put them all in the same VPP, however during judging (if a note is left to inform the judges), we'll treat all your submissions as one level. Elsewise you could submit a special request to have your levels combined into one vpp, provided you mention the size of the individual RFLs (which we'll make sure that the sum of the RFLs roughly equals the VPP), as well as the size of any custom textures and stuff like that. If you do that, your textures must not equal more than 20% of your total file size, and you cannot have more than 5 levels per VPP (because after that, it's just obscene).
Also, I just noticed a slight stupid moment on my part. Whenever I say "submit a special request", that means PM me about it. Hopefully no one tried to PM Garner or NCF about this, as they pretty much could care less. Eventually I'll get the rules made out. As a reward for the eternally fluctuating rules, you all get until the first day of December to work on your maps (no more extensions, as it's already confusing enough). Now, if there's no more questions or concerns, let us go forth and map the best SP maps that can be made! |

FYI Australia is full of the coolest people and even Australians make fun of Australia ... so as long as u keep the jokes general nobody should mind. I think we are above getting annoyed by one person having a laugh at our country ... unlike those canandians

I would enter the comp. but Id put you other mappers to shame.. In my eyes SP maps are all different from one another.. hence, would be literally wrong to choose a winner.. unless of course all but 1 map failed to be complete before the deadline.
These little things are what makes an SP
a) The Brushes and Layout
b) Style
c) Story
d) Excitment
Making a series of SP maps alone and submitting it here for everybody to enjoy would be a better path to travel, rather than entering a single map by itself which would be found to be less fun (playing) than an actual mapping contest..
I think a good idea for a mapping Competition would be to choose a type which brings more people such as an "Anything Goes" where you could make either SP,DM,CTF, or a MOD of any of the following.
For there to be a truly competive competition it would require more contestents, this SP thing doesnt looks to be going anyway anytime soon. |
