Yeah Beat... This has happened to me a few times, I just didn't know whether it was a fluke or not... It just never seems to work when you want it to

I made a face brush and put it just beneath the surface of the water, gave the face brush one of the red gore textures (basically to give the impression that the water was blood, check out my RFU4 map) and made it a No Player Collide keyframed group.

It did indeed show transparency and I had to make a new red texture to suit...

I dunno man, try it. I am sure when I tried making a door wit a section of grating, even on a face brush, the transparency disappeared

There are objects that noone ever uses. Let's overwrite one of them. Use it in the map and deliver the mod in the same vpp as the map.

ive having the same problem, like for micros, when i want to get a window to open and close
now im not sure if this works, never acually tryed it *kicks himself for noit trying it* anyway, in RED when you make a brush a mving group, in RED now im not sure about RF but it shows up detailed, but the second you make it acualy a detail brush the transparentey goes away i might try that now acually
another way that i used on some map a long time ago that i never relesed was, i just moved everything else you could see, around the glass insted, lol it seems kinda cheesey thats why i didnt release the map.

yeh like the entities in MP, only the server can see them, if someone were to make mods for that that would be helpfull

brushes cant be semitransparent and move, clutter objects can, so make a cluttter, the best way is to make the window in red than export the brush you used to max and texture it than do your thing with it so you can make a new clutter in the tables

ITs quiet easy. I will make a little RED level later on but I have to go out, and think its going to be an all day thing, dont worry I will get around to doing this

how can you make cluttar objects?

How about an other approach? Make the glass were you want it, and let the rest of the level move

yeh your level cant have a skybox, if it did the skybox would appear moving lol that would look funny, when you open a door, the sky starts turning

It's easier to use the skybox_state event for doing that

if someone makes the object and textures it i will code it so you can use it in red, the maps you make with it will have to be run with a mod, but if its for single player thats fine, if you want a mulyplayer thing that works for evryone you will have to replace an object thats so obscure no one uses it or something

well thats not bad.. but how do you get it to just stick to the one map.. instead of changing your RF completely..

players that download it might be able to install it.. but they may not know how to disable it (i guess deleting the map could work) but that would be a waste of time

I guess that just makes it more visible to notice how much better RF can get by modding.

You can't. That's what the object has to be obscure and unused.
Uninstall the VPP to make it stop.
The glass object should be flat, square and 50 x50 cm so that you can place several of them to have a bigger glass.
