As HoM was taking time to be developped, YUKL, member of the HoM team for a very short while, used a part of the code in his own mod "Close to Truth" without permission. As EQGunkatas was derivated from CTT, it contained code from HoM. When Rico (HoM coder) found out that (finding his coding comments in EQG code), he claimed it should be prevented from downloading, which was the case. Still, it can be found at some places on the web or with people who had time to download it before it got removed, and that's how Vengeance Mod has derivated from EQGunkatas.

Even after being banned, Lazer & a few other modders decided to go on with the project, probably a bit to make competition to HoM but maybe not. HoM team was fighting against any mod releasing its code, and other modders were fighting against them to release their mods.

I may not be completely fair because I was part of the HoM team, but that's a summary of what I understood from this troubled case. I never actually had a chance to try EQGunkatas previous versions or to check similarities between Rico's code & YUKL/Lazer's code so I don't accuse anybody. This war is over now, HoM has been released and EQG3 is going on. That's it. |

Amen. With these wise words i consider this ended, for once and for all. Best it to talk about this private and not on public boards anymore before we have ww3. Everybody is free to create things now, so we should allow people to do so.. |

It's okay. It is only a wind in the past. We don't need to have any argue anymore. Anyway, Close to the truth, EQGunkatas, Vengeance, or even HoM are open for all of us. We won't talk about any copyright or discuss about permission again. After all, we are all enjoying making MODS, right? I'm still curious about the development of EQGunkatas. |

		 | Quoting muskylounge | | I also get a crash when i pull out the shotgun. Is this my settings? what should they be on? |

No...it is not the setting's fault. I haven't figured out what happened with the shotgun. I think there is a line of program that need to be fixed. It didn't crashed in previous version of vengeance. |
