I'm building pretty good computer, and I want to benchmark it, so I can compare it to other computers, and see if its up to par with similar systems.

Does anyone know of a good program to use?

-sorry if this isn't a good area to post this-

perhaps UT2004 or 2003?

I haven't figured out how the benchmarking on UT2004 works, tough.
There are no batch files in the benchmark folders which you can run

I've heard Cull of Duty can also run benchmarks.

these 3 are good to compare.

This site should tell how to get benchmark to work in UT 2004

What settings did you use? (Resolution,AA,Filtering) And is that an overall mark for all 16 tests, just the game tests, or the game tests and the cpu tests?

All at default settings No aa or af enabled. I think my score is reasonably nice for my set up.

3.2 oced@ 3.4 FSB 214x4
1GB of PC4000 hyperX kingston 3.3.3.5 RAM bios settings set to "Turbo"
eVGA Modified 6800GT 445/1300mhz
200GB HD 7200rpm SATA (slow i know)
480W PWS
Lots of other system tweaks to boost performance.
All air cooled. CPU never gets over 60C under heavy loads.

Next month upping to a:
FX-57
2GB PC3200 OCZ of some sort with nice OC capability
ABIT, DFI, or ASUS mobo
100GB 10,000/12,000 (which ever I can find) RPM scsi
Dual 7800GT SLI or the New R530 crossfire with ATI's mobo when available depending on game benchmarks and multi GPU rendering performance.
600WATT reliable PSU
Some sort of extreme liguid cooling. Will be running multiple cooling systems for CPU, System RAM, GPU, Vid RAM, and northbridge if AMD mobos have one (not sure, never owned an AMD before). All modified by me to fit.

HURRY UP ATI!! Show us the new stuff!!

Why Bother Upgrading a top end system... Your comps already way up there and can more then likely run any game out there at top graphics and probably for a few years to come... So whats the point of upgrading? If I were you I'd save the money and wait a few years and buy an even better computer for probably the same price as your going to pay for the upgrade, or save the money then wait a few years then do the upgrade and it'd probably be half the price...

I'm going agp, so the 7800 series is out, the x850xt was only a few bucks more than the x800, and in the guru3d reviews: http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/212/, scores very well. And thats good enough for me.

But of course, I can do some tweaking to get a little more out of it.

Plus, I'm not trying to make teh ultimate teh uber system either Some people do have a spending limit...
