hey thats right, we got priorities over other things .

It looks like im the only one running in a Celeron Procesor 2.6Ghz and a Nvidia GeForce 6200 256Mb AGP8X .

But like i said before, money its not for only pimpin ur PC .

PS: I just need 500Bucks more to buy my ALX

Before I put my stuff together, I've been running an AthlonXP 2500+, and an ATI 9600xt 128mb for almost 2 years. I'm not completely pimping my compy...

Why!?! Why spend $4700 on a system that costs barely $2500 to build!? (Besides the prestige factor, and the b****'n case)

Ohhh i will spend that money in the Alienware ALX, because I think they are worth it, and Alienware PCs are the best at gaming (I love the Conspiracy Blue Case n i love the skins factory Alienware windows skins, i know i can download them but they look better in an Alienware ). And my Old moded Dimension 2400 needs a replacement .

hey Schuy01, you almost have the same setup as me except ive got more HD space a WHOPPIN 500GB ive got 2 250 HD's in a RAID setup. ... less than a $1000. but you do got about 200 mhz more CPU power over me. meh ... call it even

About the Benchmark ... try Sandra (haven't heard of it ... you can find out more about it HERE.

Alienware is great gaming computers but i bet you can make one that is better and cheaper

Edit: Sandra is P I M P. it does alot of stuff other than CPU benchmarking

Yea they are beast machines but they are cheaper if you build them yourself from scratch and IMO i like other cases better than the alienware ones ... or you could buy your a basic case and do some serious modding to it yourself

Totally agree with seafood on this one ... much cheaper to build one than buy one ... especially from alienware.

LOL Check this OUT.

more like 3-4 steps to build
1)order stuff
2)slap it together
3)install OS and Drivers
4)Install software

(alot of those steps they added were to make it sound harder than it actually is and discourage people.)

you can buy a cool case DIRT CHEAP .. ok about 50 bucks

lol guess what, I talked to my dad earlier about this forum and he said that we might build a new pc after xmas.

he was talking about a dual core 64 bit processor, 2 500 HD's in a RAID array, PCI express video card. I thought he was joking ... but he was serious .

You guys might have just won me a new PC, Thanx

hehe! Maybe it was the benchmark scores of the 64 bit proc and PCI-E card that I put up?!?!?!? LOL You're welcome... just... when you start to get into overclocking the 64bit stuff... then it gets to be more difficult.

multiply-ers!!

was reading buy vs build and some issues with that

30 individual components even if you count cables (usually come with what they are needed for) there is no way near 30 components.

They make drivers and things seem hard to find ... they are not

If you are upgrading it will most likely come with up to date BIOS so need to flash and no need to firmware upgrade anything if it is new. (older stuff will probably have to to have peak performance)

If you buy an alien ware system you have to wait for it to arrive just as you have to wait for components (which of course they do not mention)

i do agree it is a longer process ... to have a PC up and running well it will take about 2 days but then YOU know what is happening, YOU know how all the settings are and YOU have just saved yourself $$$ (and you have the satisfaction of saying I built this)

2 Days if the first day includes running around town to get all your parts! 1 day to piece it and have the software up and running.
