Those look incredible. I do have one suggestion, though; your lighting looks kinda 'blocky', turn on smoothing groups for a few faces to help make it seem more natural.

So I read this and I was like, "Smoothing groups? " So I checked out the site I go to for tutorials and found this:
http://redtech.rededitor.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10&Itemid=3
And oh happy days, it was easy as pie and look at the results!

I think it looks much better! I just used the first smoothing group but if you have any more suggestions of the like, please do tell! ^_^ Thanks tons!

As for the darkness, I added some light along the edges there and the top is supposed to be dark so I'll leave that for now..

Let me know what you all think and thanks for the suggestions! ^_^ Keep 'em commin, please!

I would also set the "Lightmap Resolution" on everything to highest, that usually makes shadows nice and sharp.

Wow, really looks great TSpectre!

Little update on my SP campaign:

Progress is slow.... ever since i bought my Wii.... But i still did make some sort of progress.

Couple screens of the space level:

I also extended the dungeon level to include more spine-tingling encounters with zombies.

So far thats 4 complete levels... so the whole project is about 85% i guess.... I still have to implement the story into the levels now. (if i can ever figure out hud messages). And there probably is a chance of a whole new level, depending on if i can still put up with this project till then.

Be careful when adjusting both lightmap resolution and smoothing groups in the same map. If two faces have different lightmap resolutions they can't be in the same smoothing group or RED will crash when you try and build geometry or calculate lighting.

8th Aug 2005 Yeah there's some nice looking screenies there peeps... keep it up

OK, seeing as tho people have already started pimping their maps in this forum, would it be possible to make this thread the sticky one? Thanks Frank

So here's a map that is very nearly finished, I have been testing it over the last few days with the BAW(*** Clan ( Thanks Guys and Gals )

It is a sequel map to my mf_All_Around_ the World map that some of you may be familiar with.

I have made this one a bit larger and constructed all new famous buildings and landmarks for yuor enjoyment

OK so here's some links to real piccies of what I've created, using my 1st screenie of the map as reference, we'll start at 12 o'clock and work round in a clockwise fashion...

Carved Caves of Petra, Jordan
The Petronas Towers, Malaysia
Stonehenge, UK
The parthenon, Athens
Some Aztec Pyramid
The Bank of China, Hong Kong
The Gateway Arch, St. Louis
The Maussoleum

And in the centre of the map I have created a representation of the The Golden Gate Bridge
spanning The Grand Canyon

Just a couple of areas to tidy up and it should be done

Wow just seams like yesterday...

Okay, I really didn't like the day time for the destroyed part but once I got a second opinion that said to go for night time (thank you Goober) that's what I did.

So you gonna have both the destroyed and the not yet destroyed temple in your map?
I mostly like day time maps better. but its your choise, how about having it change from day to night with a rotating skybox?

And how about using the actual moon from Zelda?

Mostertman, He said that alot of his testers already have told him to stop making night maps, but i just feel that for the destroyed part, where the sky is seen for much of the map, a night sky would allow the use of more interesting lighting and shadows, making it more realistic.

When he had the day sky there, i couldnt help but think "this doesnt fit..."

I'd just like to add that for anyone looking at the screenshots and not geting the idea of the map.... It's ok, i was like that at first, but once i played it and got him to explain the idea, it is a great idea...

To sum up the idea....
There's 2 temples (mabye 3) which, when you go through a door you are teleported to each. (Dont worry TS, i dont give away your idea ) Here's the catch; they're both the same temple... just in different time periods. One ancient and looking as a temple would, and the second being modern and a destroyed temple with broken stairs and things (which he has done a great job on by the way).

My idea for him was to add a futuristic part where we are trying to rebuild the temple, but use metal textures and modify it alot... make it look futuristic... Mabye with electricity and open wires, metal pannels insted of cement... and machinery...

Nah don't think that future/metal thing is a good idea, It wouldn't have anything to do with the zelda game anymore.
