just put seprate brushes on the side of the level and make sure the geo region goes DIRECTALLY around them, not around anything else.

Im guessing you dont understand the problem, you can geo areas outside of a geo region by hitting the very edge of the geo region ... it will geo the size that you set in both the geo area and the non-geo area.

As the blocks are touching the floor if you shoot a rocket at the base of the block it will also do some geo some of the floor replacing the texture with the rock geo texture.

I would show some pictures to show what i mean but i have fixed up my map and would rather not undo what i did just to show you.

[edit]WOW i said "geo" 8 times [/edit]

hmmm, try making the cieling, walls, and floor "Show Sky" and then put face brushes forming all of them, make the face brushes "Is Detail" that way they cant be destroyed.

To better show you what he is talking about, here is quote from another thread that might help.

Here's my entry for the competition...

From NoClanFrank's remake of his earlier classic TrenchWarfare

Hehehehe hoser

It's a lesson to you new mappers to protect the boundaries of your full geo level with non-geo regions, otherwise I might write your name in the sky and you'll take over Frank's accolade of this type of neglect being referred as a N.C.F.

Ohhh i managed to do it

Alright there seems to be some confusion
Here the geo is ONLY surrounding the block (represented by the green lines)

Now when i shoot the bottom of the block in the geo region it also spreads to the floor, like so ...

Now i didnt want the floor to geo ... i wanted it like this,

Hope the pictures help you understand

If you want the entire block to be geo-able but not affect the ground the only way you're gonna do it effectively is to make the floor from a detail brush.

Do as we instructed on ventrillo last night

Here's a pic of my upcomming DM (and first) map Block Fort. As you can see the walls are not yet textured, but you get the idea.

Edit: Lord Seafood thought this is my screen resolution, so I'm going to point out it's not. >_>

Woot Block Forts is my favourite Mario Kart battle level of all time, I was thinking about making it into RF Deathmatch level great choice! Maybe I should make a DS inspired map.
Trying to find old players. Anyone about? Drop me a PM or reply to this thread:
