I was wondering, as I have seen it happen many times, whether it is possible to override the reload of some of the weapons before weapon change.
This happens to me quite often with the rail gun. Someone will pick up a rail gun, fire it and then immediately start blasting me with a shotty or something.
Now when I fire the rail gun it has to reload itself before I can change weapon but I have seen a few people who I don't think this happens to. Not one to mention any names eh Winnetou 
Also there are some people that seem to be able to move a lot quicker than others (Frank ) There's no-one in the game that can move like Frank and also require at leats 2 rail bolts before dying.
Now you could put this down to ping, but I play often enough to know whether I've hit someone sufficiently with a rail gun to know that they should have died.
But it's the fast change between firing a rail and producung another weapon that I'm more concerned about. It should happen when you run out of bolts but some people can do it earlier I'm sure  |

I'd like to give NCF a straight-line race from one end of DM-Venus to the other. I bet he'd be half-way back before I've even seen the other side of the level. |

Learn how to dodge in rythm, I'm pretty sure I move as fast as anyone. It's what 50% of my game is based on.
The avoiding reload is just hotkeys, I prefer not to use hotkeys because of the mass amount of glitching in RF it causes, but you're free to choose your own way of playing. If you hotkey without glitching, it's slower than just killing people with your current gun.
P.S. I believe it's pretty hard to hotkey from a rail because it was never supposed to be allowed. Just my opinion, but it's too overpowered to be component within the game purposly. |

Are you accusing of dresssing like a woman? Those skins are the ones that seem to run faster then male skins.
I have been told that it is hard to kill me. But as ++Allen++ well knows, that isn't true. True if you are using a rail gun it might be harder but you should see Kiliad handle himself with a rail gun. Even with his high ping(the Aussie is still on dial up  ) he manages to stomp on me. I do what I can to try and keep that gun away.
Back when I only ran a regular(non-dedictated) server. I would have to stand still and let some of the players shoot me. They thought that I was wearing extra armor (the knobs  ). When running that type server. If I had the extra armor, everybody had extra armor. If I ran MYTH everybody had the MYTH cheats. That's just the way it goes. So you see my little CrazyMad_Ferrit, you seem to have a problem with PING. |

I've always had to reload the rail before changing weapons too, Ferrit.
One thing though, about once every two or three games I get a free rail shot. I don't have to reload before firing again. I've got absolutely no idea why it happens though. Is it a glitch that happens to other people too?
About the ping thing, I find a lot of my rail shots don't actually do anything even though on my screen I see the rail bolt go right through my opponents head.
Again it seems to be a ping thing though it goes against what little I know about how RF is supposed to work.
Oh yeah, Frank, you may not have been playing your hardest but check the pings.

How to play with ping:
Dodge constantly, pretending you're being shot while you're not and move around randomly. Do this because with a high ping, people see you long before you react, if you're already dodging on their screen, it ups your chances.
Use guns like AR, HMG, SMG and PR. Someone said use shotty because of the spread, but that's very wrong in my opinion. You can use shotty if the opponent is running towards you, otherwise it's so random making it worthless I find. Some can rail, but I always thought it was harder with high ping.
Don't play verses 0 pingers. It's impossible at times, low pings are a lot easier than an actual non dedicated when you have high ping. Oh and Frank, if you run Myth while you're server, other players do not get the advantages. You can run god mode with Myth, but only if you're on a 0 ping server. |

I'm afriad that I don't understand this. Am I being accused of cheating?
The only mods I've ever used were ones that changed player skins (the nude Eos one and the Half-Life2 one RED FROG uploaded a month ago). Neither are cheating mods. I got bored with the naked Eos one quick and the HL2 one caused my comp to crash.
I don't use the keyboard to change weapons, I use the mouse.
I usually use the Masako skin which is a tad smaller than the male avatars but I don't know if the targeting part of the game sees the player as smaller.
I'm actually pretty shocked if you actually are accusing me of cheating. |

WRONG again hoser. One GOD mod doesn't work on 1.20 but unlimited ammo still does. Hence the not needing to reload time. You will know it if you ever pick up a weapon that somebody has dropped. Only if the server is running the mod.

Hehehehe Franky sure gets annoyed when I rail him but I still say the shotty works best for me when my ping is high because people ae not necessarily standing where you see them. Since the server has to tell all other machines where everyone else is, a high ping means they might have moved before you get the update. You'll be shooting empty space even though from your perspective someone is standing there. You'll even hear the sounds effects of your shots hitting them but thats because the client manages that part. The server manages how much damage everyone gets so just because it looks and sounds like your hitting them it doesn't mean you are. The shotgun's spread means you have more chance of hitting someone if they've moved away slightly from where you think they are. Granted its not a guarantee but I'll take any advantage no matter how slight. And as for the rail Frank, you need to change your moves. When I do manage to shot you its because I anticipated your move. In fact many players have their own style and habits like travelling around a particular map in almost the same way each time they play it. |

About that Free Rail you get Tmine, basically it happens when you fire the rail but run over an ammo pickup for it.
If it is timed just right you still have 6 spare rails but 0 in the gun, so the one you pick up goes in the railgun. Very hard to do deliberately, believe me I've tried it on my own. Pointless to even try with others playing.
As for switching before the rail reloads, it's possible and not that difficult really Works like the fusion/grenade 'thing'.
Some characters do run slightly faster than others too. Masako being one hehe |

To avoid reloading the rail after you fire it simply switch to riot after you fire it then quickly switch back without glitching and you have already reloadedKind of a glitch |

Actually I've had the god mode working myself. It doesn't work on dedicated servers though. Not so sure about the picking ammo up with myth, either... but if the other person is running an ammo mod then it will work like you suggested.
Myth works differently though, it doesn't give you more ammo, it just doesn't have your ammo drain. But from saying that, there may be more than 1 version.

Ah, that makes sense. Maybe it's just more noticeable with the rail for me. It seems that some days three quarters of my hits do absolutely nothing.

Ahh, another one that makes sense. Cheers Grim, I'd always wondered. It seems to happen to me quite a lot but then I do try to keep running over pickups mainly cuz I'm so crap with the pistol.

LOL. Getting shot around corners can be a little annoying.
I think I'll stick with the Rail as my favourite weapon. It might not be the best and I might be crap with it but it's the most fun anyway.  |
