Well, they shouldn't be stupid enough to buy a game that says on the box, "Broadband Recommended", or "Internet Connection Required" under the minimum requirements... |

Half Life 2 does come with a warning that you do need an internet connection to play the game.
But like a lot of us, when we buy a game we don't really look at all that is recommended to play the game. Sometimes we are stuck with buying a game that we can not play on your PC because your current specs are too low.
Worst thing about it, you can't even return it to the store for a refund. Well that is the way it is here in the USA. I've had only one store take back software and that was CompUSA but that's only because the manager knew me from me being in the store way too much.

sobe, if somebody buys HL2 and doesn't bother to read the requirement, that doesn't make them stupid. There could be other reasons.
1. They are on their lunch break and they are in a hurry.
2. They think that their computer is fast enough to play any game out there.
3. They can't read.
I could keep listing more reasons but I think you know where I am going with this. You shouldn't call anybody stupid...ever. It could have a negative effect on their well being. You could set a series of chain events that would lead this person to a life of crime. Then you would be the one responsible for that action and you might never even know it.

Some people dodn't play multi player (ummm ME) so one would asume you could play half life 2 single player without an internet connection. good thing i never bought it. and intill thay make it so i dodn't have to log online just to play SP i am never baying any game to do with steam! allthough in 20 years i might not have a choice...... (aculy one, stop playing video games)
speaking of bying game you can't play. i bought enter the matrix first day it hit the shelves for $50 , only to find out my PC couldn't play it. 6 to 8 mounths later i got a new pc. by the enter the matrix was $5. talk about being pissed. also it's wrong about what thay say. the pain never goes away |

It would have been more painful if you had of been able to play it when you bought it, that game is not very good.
If someone doesnt read the requirements, they deserve to buy games they cant run |

once i heard a story about bob. he was a nice guy. 21, wife and kids, nice house in a small countryside town. living the American dream. One day bob was on the internet chattin it up with his 1337 buddies, then out of nowhere someone he didnt know added him to their msn resulting in a 'confirm buddy request' anxious to meet this mystery person BOB accepted and greeted 'hax0r 4 l1fe lolol' with a "hello 'hax0r 4 l1fe lolol' hows it going?" shortly after sending his greetings to this mystery person it was followed up by a message bob has never seen before... "ASL?" bob wondered. perplexed he asked 'hax0r 4 l1fe lolol' what ASL meant. the next reply for some reason changed bob forever... the message was "ASL j00 n0b y00 t3w st3wp1d t00 ev3n b3 0nl1ne!!11!1!"
no one knows how that caused bob to snap, but from the moment he saw that message he stood up and flipped his pc desk in a rage. a few weeks later he was heavily addicted to psychotic stimulants, beat his wife savegly, selling family heirlooms for dope. it was bad. after a short trial he was divorced and his wife had taken all his belongs and bob ended out on the street. they say he lived behind a meat packing plant somewhere in texas, living off of food that didnt pass saftey tests. no one has seen him since. but one thing remains certan. some of the workers at the meat packing plant on the night shift have gone missing. Also some had told disturbing stories of a giant mutated humanoid figure dissapearing at the corner of their eyes. some say its bob feeding because recently the meat that has not passed the saftey tests is incenerated rather than thrown out back. However nobody will know for sure if its bob still on his blood crazed ramapge. but recently there was a huge stash of human bones behind the meat packing plant and the night shift never returned home the night before the bones were found. The packing plant is now abandoned. Sometimes when people drive by it they hear the moans of the hungry beast. waiting for his fresh shipment of failed saftey test meat...

If someone doesnt read the requirements, they deserve to buy games they cant run | i must be the only persion in the world who actuly injoyed ETM. ok well the gun fighting was lame along with the ship driving levels (last three level) but the hand to hand wasn't that bad and i like the car driving levels. also i'm preaty sure i'm the only persion to actuly kill every agent in the game incuding every MR. SMITH.
And i did read the requirements for ETM but there video requirements where missleading. |

The only decent thing was the hand to hand ... everything else was terrible, it was also way to short. |

Geez, bite his head off why don't ya... Bringing up old topics constantly is annoying, but there's no need to go mental on him. L4Y needs some sort of topic deletion system. |

I for one don't have a problem with people bringing up old topics. I really like to think of it as a reminder. |

Bringing up old forum members is a far worse problem
No... bringing up old food is slightly worse than even that.
Sooo anyway. I can't be bothered reading the whole thread so can somebody sum up for me?
Maybe an auto lock on posts would be effective... for anything that hasn't been posted to in a month or whatever.
Actually I have no opinion. I just wanted an excuse to use this --->
