We could have it set up like this:
1 CTF server(32players)
1 TDM server(32players)
After matches are over,
2 DM servers(each 32players) for all out war type fun!
Or we could make 2 CTF servers.... Doesn't really matter, I would really like to play against Volition 
Quit trying to advertise all the DVL maps Blaze! lol
We need the BEST(no offense) that has been made. My maps probably don't even count there either So no worries eh. I say a few maps by wrecks for SURE, including DM-RFU2-KillBill! |

Who ever said anything about TDM? It really needs to be DM. Does anyone even play TDM?  |

Yes! V-Becker as soon as the DM and CTF map packs are finalized I can send them to you! There are just so many maps to choose from - this is a major stumbling block. But like I mentioned earlier - great maps are good but it is the players that make the game!
I honestly recommend one server with TDM and another with CTF - and I endorse the idea that both servers be turned over to DM for a finale. This will be a super-extraordinary event!  |

I completely understand being no spring chicken myself. I would prefer to host TDM but am flexible. Sounds like a good time will be had.

Here are some additional points that I'd like to ask about:
- we can't host a server. We can, but it's kind of a pain because of the firewall.
- bandwidth is _not_ a problem. It's not an OC, but close enough.
- can we just use custom maps and nothing else (i.e. no weapon skins, etc). Anything that we can do to ensure that the game starts on time would be useful for everyone here.
We can do another game in the new year, even on the weekend, so for those who can't join this time, there will be other opporunities.

acually, why not have more games like allender suggested?
im sure, givin time that we can fashon a custom HUD and/or a few maps for this event.

V-Allender if we use standard install maps for our first adventure it may cut down on familiarity time. Indeed, I would welcome a new tradition of L4Y vs Volition matches in the future - giving Volition time to review the approximate 2700 custom maps here. Unless Volition has unreleased maps as well; hint, hint.
From what I have seen, I have not found any custom skins mixed in with any custom map .vpp's. I understand your concern V-Allender, I don't think we will be running anything that requires an entry in the command prompt for mods.
Still, anyone have a server that can fit 24 or more players, need an upload of 720+kb/sec?  |
