Atm the whole level is in four parts. Those first two pics i posted are from the second level. The sky box i used in that one is actually a custom skybox with buildings in the background (i didn't design it myself). That third pic is from the fourth level, and yes, it's using a default skybox texture.

The other three levels all use default textures and skybox's.

On this topic, i actually have a question. Can we use other bits and pieces in our maps for SPMC 2K5? For example, i've stolen a ventilation shaft and a staircase from the original game to use in my level. And the skybox is a custom built one i downloaded from the internet.

Sure. Actually, I think you can use all the stuff you "stole" from the RED Groups download (check this site for it). Even if it isn't, if you hadn't said anything, I wouldn't have known the difference <looks the other way when your map arrives>. Custom skyboxes are like custom textures: use them as long as they don't overload you past the file limit (which as I've explained is entirely flexible, depending on how many deductions you want).

Please don't open an old thread like this. If you have something important to say, that's fine; but to reopen a thread just because you can, that's pretty rude. This is all considering the fact that in doing so, you've added another link in the "hot topics" section that isn't actually a hot topic. As such, you've confused us into thinking something valid was said.

Well, im very sorry, but such a large thread deserved to be a hot topic. There are only 82 single player maps on L4Y, and just below 2000 DM, and 900+ CTF. Working on the stats plus Team DM, it works out to be just under 2 percent of the maps on this site are SP. How utterly discusting. There are plenty of tutorials around, understanding the basics of SP should'nt be hard.

I know this is nearly a year old, and i felt the need to bump this up, because lets face it, you guys would rather i bumped up a previous topic rather then me making another one altogether...

Bring back SP. Ive already started on a few game recreations, Halo and Doom 3 are the ones im doing as well as some other SP's. SP shows your mapping skills far more then DM does.

What, Halo, Doom or just SP mapping!

I reckon there are some fantastic mappers out there who could make great SP maps, but they dont want to. They need to give it a go.

I have about 4 pages of ideas and stuff for another big SP mission that I have been adding to bit by bit the last couple of weeks when ideas would pop into my head. After I finish all my other stuff I currently have on the go, I'm probably gonna start working on it if I'm still motivated. It'll be Ambush 3, and it'll be way better then the last Ambush if everything goes right, and it'll actually have somewhat of a story line, unlike the last Ambush which was pretty much just a bunch of random levels.
