well umm you can twist in vertex mode, i always find it easyer to make the stairs and the flat invisable brush on top of it, BUT make sure the flat brush and the staircase are split the same number of times, just bend the stairs however you want, then bend the invisable brush, thats my method |

What is the perfect bending angle?I sometimes get wierd shaped brushes when testing with bend. |

Yeah, that works the best rather than placing an invisible texture after every step.

try messing around with the axis areas like "x" and "z" or try "y" and "z"
here is another one I made, I guess Im getting a bit carried away lol






and yes there is an invisible texture on it. |

Thanks for the replies , really, all I did was vertex the staircase then bent it making a nice spiralstaircase. the invisible texture I make on the stairs before bending.

To import them, just do this:
Quoting RED Help | It's easy to add custom texture maps to your Red Faction levels.
Texture Requirements:
All textures must be 24- or 32-bit .TGA (Targa) files. They must be a power-of-two in each dimension, no more than 256 pixels wide or tall. 32x32, 64x32, 256x256 are all okay. 133x64, 512x256 or 100x100 are not okay. Texture dimension cannot not have a ratio greater than 8 to 1 (e.g. 256 x 8 is not allowed)
Once you have your textures created, simply copy them to your \RedFaction\user_maps\textures\ directory, and run RED.
Any custom textures used in a level will be automatically included in the VPP packfile when you use the "Create Level Packfile" command.

hmmm... this pimp my map idea is really taking off although in my opinion its getting very busy. It might be a good idea to have a different pimp my map thread each month so that it seems more organised and full with newer stuff.
