its a SP map right???

Yep pure 100% single player map.And here is something for you guys at the end of the level you will have to fight with Masako,Capek,and an APC but with 100 miners or less but something like that.But something wrong happened when i tried to create level packfile it said error could not create level packfile. Can someone give me tips on this annoyying problem.

yah, down under the brush properties there should be a white, or red box, read why it said cannot create the packfile, most likly its a texture you dont have, just create a tga and name it that, or extract one of the ones in maps4 and rename it, and put it in textures

Goober i created a new level wanna see it.The story is this :You are a memeber of the Special Elite Forces of the Red Faction(S.E.F.O.T.R.F)This is the last mission for you and your team mates before going to Earth or so you think.You arrive at a abondoned Water Purifier Station below the mines.You and your team found a dead member of the Elite Team and then.......I,ll fix the map a little bit before releasing it here.The file is 234 kb,s so 56ks or anything lower can download it to.Some pics of the map.Enjoy .

Nice work Pred. Perhaps you could let me have a look at it and see why it won't create the packfile. Before you do that, check that box under the list section (no matter what mode your in, there should be a white box on the bottom-left corner of the screen). Build your level (spacebar) and if it turns red, you've either got a problem with holes (which you can pretty easily fix, just click "rebuild with hole lines", zoom out, and look if there's any yellow lines extending above your map. Then go about fixing them however you need to), or something in your file is really wrong (I've had some problems with not being able to create things, most often you've got too much for RED to work with at once. Throwing some portals in should help).

When you're done with it all, PM either me or MF (I'd probably go with MF, as he has a lot more experience than I do, but then again, somehow I'm able to fix things almost magically (is that a good thing, when you can fix something without knowing how you did it?)). Also, your story line with the Elite Forces sounds a good bit like my map pack (well, just the end of the level), did you "borrow" some ideas (I don't mind if you did). I'll throw some pics of my Hologram Imaging Chamber up too, since this is "pimp your map":




That should be plenty for those awaiting the release (long wait if you are waiting, as it'll be a long while until it's released). I may release this level when I'm through with it now (still adding stuff to it, maybe I'll never be finished). Anyone who wants an incomplete, although working pre-alpha release can PM me. It's a difficult level, and if you need help, type ~vivalahelvig, because without that, you'll be too frustrated to see the end (which isn't even programmed in, so just die 20 times then give up).

EDIT: Yes, it is supposed to be this dark. If you can't see it, click on the original image, they're brighter pictures.

Nope i didint borrowed your ideas i just thought of ot and S.E.F.O.T.R.F was born there is eos and all the miners use rail guns precision,s and 1 uses a Fusion.And the map has its battles underwater yes underwater.

I,ll put 100 12 mm ammo then But dont worry almost all the enemies in my map are outcasts that means they evn attack their own kind.Like 1 merc was shooting Capek while the sea creature was fighting with mutants.Its pretty cool.The map is 524 kb,s not 234 i mistyped it.The best thing about this map is eventough the fights last 4 or 7 minutes is its all species for themselves.At the bottom of the pit you can watch mutants vs mutants mutants vs Rock Snake vs Sea Creature vs Reeper.I want to mak cutsecenes but they stil wont work.

Ok, I know I havent been here for a while and I havent released or worked on my map for weeks, but Ill start using the editor more often from now on when I can find the time.

KERPAL, the stairs look good but I have to ask this question:

Q. Did you add an extra brush(with invisible textures) on top of the stairs so players can just go up them without having to jump every step?

The invisible texture is pretty hard, but for me I usually use a box with an 0.01 height with splits then bend it on top of the stairs , or you could put an invisible texure after every other step but that takes more work.

NO NO using one brush per step would be, well for a lack of a better word at 12:32 AM, dumb. You would end up with too many brush for a stair case.
All you would need is a thin brush and set it to detail and wrap it around the stairs in vertex mode. The brush would of course have to be split many many times to suit the stairs and it's angle. Just like you stated above.
