As far as I know they canceled the cell phone service to prevent any(if any) other bombs from being detonative. So don't worry. You father hopefully is all right.

What really is really stupid is that CNN shifted it's attention to New York. I mean CENSORED does NY have to do with this occurrence? And guess what, the former mayor of New York just happen to be a couple of blocks away from where one of the bombing took place. They started to talk to him while all these people were injured or dead. Way to focus the attention where it really matters.

Any way, I am sorry to have heard that this happen to London. My heart goes out to the families that have lost somebody and to those that were injured.
Why is it that the innocent always have to suffer for the doing of other "evil men"?

No Frank, they didn't disable cell phone services to prevent bombs going off, in the chaos...

The BBC website was crippled...
All UK mobile phone networks were crippled by everyone panicking...

I know what the mobile phone problems were like, I had someone try to call me from France repeatedly, it didn't work, until they tried my other mobile on another network - it worked eventually. My parents in Spain also attempted to contact me, they had to try various times on both of my mobiles to get hold of me. I was unable to send and receive SMS messages in the mess, or receive/make calls.

Everyone panicked, and the cell phone networks got over-crowded, something I'm sure they will all be criticized for now.

The french are stupid or under-develloped. They have never heard about the internet and MSN?

For the period I stayed in Paris, I thought the French were quite ahead of us, PBX systems in homes linked into computer, faxing directly into the PC, etc, etc

This was in 1996, oh and in an apartment in Courbevoir.

Courbevoie is the buisness district. It's brand new. It's supposed to be modern and up to date. The rest is not like that. But i think we are off topic. Sorry.

Condoleance to the victims and people who lost a relative.

Skiprat, keep us aware of the news about your familly.
