There is an interesting post called "Ideas for RF3". I know most of you have read it by now, but there may be some n00bs who went on vacation and missed it. Here is the link, and it pretty much touches on the same subjects. I like it, simply because it gave me a great idea to try to pull all the stories together. Pretty spiffy post if I think so, and a lot of great ideas:

We should. NoClanFrank, can you set up Garner to put this up? If there isn't enough server space, we could create a separate place and link to it. Invisionfree boards should work well, or maybe even Proboards. If no one wants to spend the time, I could whip up a forum for us in about an hour. I'd be using Proboards, as I am most familiar with it. |

I'd rather we didn't have "fan art", since most of yours turns out to be hacked screenshots (no offense, but I don't consider that art).
Any fan art we'd have would have to be like cartoons or drawings. Basically sketches to help the stories along, or to maybe highlight something. Basically, consider it the same as what novels sometimes use ("The Andromeda Strain" is a famous one, since it includes pictures only when something needs clarification and words won't work).
If you were to use CG (Computer Generated) art, keep it to low-size JPEGs and small sizes (say 128 square (128 * 128), which is 10 times smaller than the screen shot you posted (which was really too big)).
Garner (or NCF), will you put one up, or should I start working on some forums that we could link to (we'd save a lot in bandwidth by linking, so I have a feeling you're going to go with that). Right now, I have a few ideas should we go with a secondary site for the fan fiction page:
Pre-RF1 stories (the story of the miners before and up to them landing on Mars)
Alternate RF1 stories (what if the miners' rebellion failed? Perhaps Eos turned evil or maybe Parker). Can include alternate endings, beginnings, whatever you think of between the time period during RF1.
Post RF1 stories (say on the ride back home, and during the period between RF1 and RF2)
Alternate RF2 stories (Whatever you can think up that could occur during the time period of RF2)
Post RF2 stories (stuff happening between RF2 and RF3)
RF3 ideas and stories (since RF3 was never released/developed, this would be the largest and most creative area).
Everything after RF3 (perhaps an RF4? Maybe something to conclude the series?)
I'd create different categories and set mini-boards for each idea that I can think of (say in pre-RF1, there'd be a section for Parker before RF1, a section for Eos, etc. I'd need some help with the mini-boards for RF2, since I've never played it). In each category, there'd be general discussion sections (ex "Did you like RF2?" "What would you have done differently in RF2?"), history of the science behind the RF series (what do you think led to the development of the railgun? Information about nanotechnology, etc). Any other suggestions would be welcome. Also, since I don't like the idea of there being only one admin account for any site (what if the admin loses his password and someone needs something done?), the L4Y admins who would go to the forum would be granted admin access on the forum (and no, I'm not stupid, the other admins would have to wait for me to verify their identity, probably through a L4Y PM where I ask them if "Did you just request admin access to my fan ficiton forum? If you did, I have your username recorded as <username>. If you did, your status will be changed within a few days of your confirmation. If you did not, respond to this message in the negative. Should you not respond within 2 weeks, your request will be thrown out."
Also, I really don't moderate what people say/do on the forum, so long as it is clean and clear. The standard swear words would have changes to them (Proboards has a language filter where you can convert words to others. I'd change all the swear words to <first letter><list of stars/asterisks until last letter><last letter>. The list would update as people try to circumvent the filter). Also, no insults would be tolerated, but based on L4Y's forums, we shouldn't have a problem with that. |

Thats not a hacked one thats really from red faction and i woudnt cosider that fan art i just posted it.Do you know how to make a website .If you could i think we could make a fanfiction area and send drawings and CG images.I am a really good artist you know .And you know we could post our stories and like you said create alternate endings ,prequels and sequels. |

For our purposes, we don't need a website per se. It would be great to have for the pictures, however you'd have to e-mail them to the web admin, wait for him to review then post them. That could take weeks (if I were web admin, it would, since I haven't updated my personal site for almost a year, and my blog is at least 3 months old). A forum would be easier (although not for the user), since the pictures would go up immediately, no review time (unless we used invisionfree).
What we really need is just a forum, since pictures could have their own special section. You could then just link or re-post the picture if you need it for your thread. Far better than a website (since the website would still have to have its own forum anyway). |

Oh here,s my RF story
Following the rescue of the miners,the EDF fleet left but something went wrong.Somehow Parker didint disabled the bomb he just stopped it for awhile.20 years later some group of terraformers well a colony went to the very place where the originale RF started,barracks,mines,offices all disusesd and rotting away.Then they found the place where Parker disabled the bomb.1 of them somehow went near the bomb and the beeping started,2 seconds left then *BOOM*Somehow they didint died but they felt wierd.Years passed Mars was colonized eventually making a world record as the first planet to be colonized.The people who were in or near the explosion were somehow mutating,then it started.A man killed his family,he was somehow mad,crazy.Then people who were near when the explosion happened somehow dissapeard.At night something or a pack of them were somehow killing livestock and people.You(The player) was 1 of the 4 people who accidently activated the bomb.Then you start to dream about horrible dreams mostly about creatures,horrible experiments and strange human-like biengs with muscle like skin.You awaken somehow you get stronger and more aggresive.Then a comapny came to Mars,since there were a lot of comapnies in Mars,mining most of them,the people somehow have forgotten about the sinister company named as ULTOR.ULTOR came and promised of the "fuel" a fuel that somehow regenerated itself and will never deplete.A lot of people came to work with ULTOR.Somehow the admins where somehow wary of you.They then take a blood sample of you,the scientists smirked.They then tell you to follow them.it was a trap.You get caught in a cylindrical tube.Then gas,blue gas come out and suffocate you.You awaken with metal implants in your body,wearing a full body armour and a helmet.Still in the cylinder,you see the cratures in your nightmares that haunted you a couple of days ago.Humans with severed limbs,the limbs replaced with robotic arms,the human-like creatures somehow communicating to each other in cages,like they were planning to escape.And as you try to stop the fact that ULTOR is messing with the laws of nature,you see it you see your friends,some zombie looking,some like you.Then you here the word Red Faction,explosions follow.Somehow you and your still human friends break out.You guys catch a scientist.The scientist said the explosion that happened a year ago was more dangerous than any atom bomb because it was an old biological bomb belonging to the comapny 20 years ago.The bomb contained the bacteria [i]Plagues MutetensisThe bacteria changes biological DNA and muatates the infected life form/.The scientist also said you and your friends have no more than 64 hours to be human until the transformation begins.Now to find the cure and stop ULTOR from regaining power and enslaving the world,and stopping ULTOR from getting the "fuel"that will power their death machines.Now the fate of the world depends on you and your friends,a race against time,a race for survival[/i]
