I think someone should post,e-mail or go to THQ and tell them about our posts .I think if anybody is gonna do one of the above things or all I think THQ will make it and a reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
advaneced version of Geo-Mod like heavy weapons bullet can break thin metal or go through thin metal doors or wooden doors like in real life and if you shoot an enemies hand they cant shoot anymore but can only call for help or if you shoot their legs they will fall and cant walk. They should also put more gameplay and original story and a really powerful multiplayer that will support 200 or 100 people without any lags and hace really good superb 5 star maps for multiplayer and there should have vehicles in multiplayer that you can ride on. |

Mail admin@thq.com to contact them, but they probably won't respond. I searched throughout their entire site but could find nothing for sending them ideas and even anything about RF1 (all their RF links went to RF2). Violition's e-mail is available here: http://www.volition-inc.com/v_contact.cfm
You do realize just how complicated your new "Geo-Mod" idea will be. Technically this won't be Geo-Mod, since it won't affect the geometry of the landscape (geo is latin for Earth, and humans aren't Earth). Anyway, the active AI scripting changes that you speak of will be very difficult to do. First, it would require a subroutine to constantly check where the bullets are flying to, then compare them with players and their positions, then compare it to the landscape and geo-mod based on that. Second, and the biggest problem: to do this would require large clock cycles, as it would be constantly testing the trajectory of every bullet as it flies. If you had a multiplayer server and had this turned on, you'd have to disable all but the single-shot weapons, and set a limit for the number of shots fired per second. People wouldn't be too happy. This is best evidenced in any RF1 server with a rocket launcher in it. Because the rockets are considered "highly significant" in RF, they are constantly tracked as they move. This is why servers lag whenever rockets are fired. However, it was a very good idea, and has been attempted before (but again, most of the time it was cut out because it would overload the processor), and I think Perfect Dark for N64 attempted this, but cut it out because of the above.
A more realistic solution would be to perhaps enable this only on computers with more than 1.8 GHz of processing power and to completely cut this out for multiplayer. Anyway, if you pay attention closely in RF1, you'll find the sniper rifle is capable of going through thin walls and people. Creating a more powerful and stable multiplayer is all just part of ensuring that servers have powerful processors. This can be acheived by creating more efficient code. Oftentimes, the class and module are the most misunderstood parts of programming, and often aren't used, even when it is best to use them. I bet that (whenever they do release the source code) the source code is probably full of large, unnecessary loops and subroutines that do 10 or so tasks, so every time you call them, you execute 300 more lines than necessary. Often, corporate code is written not for clarity and efficiency, but to just get it done.
I always thought you could have vehicles in multiplayer, can you? I planned to have a spiffy map with the APC and Merc Flyer. If I can't, I suppose I'll have to re-do some of it, hehe. |

you can mix the storylines in rf1 and rf2 by making it where parker is alilas fleeing from a life he worked at for six month in the mines . by that you can have at the least a common hero |

yea RF2 is also completed quite quickly ... although there is some good levels to play in. As bot multiplayer goes there is not a lot of customisation and very low replayabilty so if you want to get it make sure you are content with playing the single player campaign. |

THQ and Volition should know why RF2 flopped. I have it on PS2, so I got to see how multiplayer was, and yes for some reason there is multiplayer on the ps2 version, but not the pc version. The muliplayer was ok, just like RF which is good, but still they should have added to it. Once I heard there was no editor or multiplayer (abouta few months before release) I was pissed, but got it anyway.
The pc version of RF1 compared the pc version to RF2
RF1 PC-Editor, online multiplayer, mods, Single Player
RF2 PC-Single Player
I think THQ and Volition got way to lazy in their studio. I have seen RF2 editor before. There is a cheat code in the PS2 version that lets you watch a quick clip of the mappers map. It looks similar to the RF editor, but as mappers know, there are only 3 color types in RF: Yellow(portal) Green (detailed) White (normal). The one I saw had more, one of which I remember being purple.
The chance of there being an RF3 is only likely if the find this forum, and all the threads about how much we like RF and want a third that is much better then RF2, and a more to it then RF1, yet keeping the story line. |

i agree it should be like RF1 and not as much Rf2,but it can have a twist in the storyline of parker and briefly touch the rf2 storyline if parker was somehow alilas from rf2, and have the nanotechnology in him |
