ok after seeing Redtech #1 i thought i can do something like that too, so here what im thinking of:
it will be a map pack(something like RFU) but every map in it will have aspects from 2 or more mappers staying on the same theme but having all the mappers styles. anyone interested please post here
i think this could be alot of fun

How about starting a map, and keep sending it to a next person, and each person can only add 10 brushes max of 200 faces or something, and than has to send it to the next player, thus creating a level made be alot of different mappers.
I think it could be fun

or they get a day and a limit of 10-15 brushes...not to mention textures..i think it would be shal we say interesting...

Owkee, but we will need someone to coordinate this, and set this up like a project.

any suggestions for the rules?

how about:
- everyone gets 1 day to fit into the map what he think fits the map.
- maximum use of 12 brushes.
- after every day someone added something that person has to send the map to the next person in line.
- use any texures you like as long as they ar not pornographic, offensive in anyway, to much about promoting "yourself" or anything els that seems inapropriate.
- Everyone has to try not create any t-joint or PS2 faces.
- Definately no holes should be created.

these are just a few ideas I had.
then: how about placing weapons and multi respawns? want to save that for they end ?

yes i was thinking more along the lines of this:
-you each have like a 20X20X20 space to work in but u can only use 12 brushes, that way we dont have people putting in 800X700X500 rooms....
-keep the custom textures to a minamum, but if you must have any, make them small in filesize
-with the ecception of amps, AN invunerabliity, fusions then either the last peoson does that insted of putting in his brushes, or when it gets back to me ill put in weapons.
-you can place respawns as you go.
-the map will be NON-GEO! (this meens that if you want something to blow up, then you must put in a geo region)
-im not sure if it should be inside with no skybox or if we could do a kind of skybox that is kind of multl-textured, like the part that you will see from this part will suit that part.
-yes as monstetman stated: try not to put t-joints or PS2 faces, and no holes.

hmm like ill start on a skybox now acually, ill put in like some clouds, moon, some constilations anything else anyone can think of?

Slow down man! , we have to figure out who is going to join us in this project first, and when have to get so good rules before talking about sending it to the next person allready, heck before even starting anything.

yeh the skybox acually looks a bit weird...i was thinking of using Watch Your Step's skybox its in RFgroups

I might be in.. but if were only allowed 12 brushes each we wont be able to make anything good and detailed... the map will just be boxes and cylinders...

If you good folks will give me a few days, I'll help organize and I'll map too.

Once the RFU4 map pack is released, give me like 2 days of rest and relaxation, and then I'll jump in head first....

I think the 12 brush limit is a tad harsh. Maybe if you have an unlimited brush limit, but just a small area to work in, say 30x30x30 or something...

That way we can have plenty of detail and a great map. Maybe if the next person you pass it onto, you can link by stairs or something so we can have different verticalities.
Back in RF... getting back into the swing of things!
