Brush limit is pointless If you were to pass the map to Sorrow then you`d find she`s just added 45,000 faces to the map with 12 brushes That is why a Face Limit is much more faesible. There are a few jobs that need to be considered. Who will be responsible for portalling the map, adding respawns and pick-ups, overall lighting? Lots to consider.

I think the best way to deal with it would be to have a good mapper who takes and checks the map after each addition, adding portals etc where required.

The easiest type of map to make would be a selection of interlinking rooms... where each mapper makes a room, limited in size.


Great idea. I recommend you take control of portalling and lights

hmm I think the mapper should be able take care of lights themselves if they want to.

Ditto. The mappers could do everything (light, portals, clutters) for the room they are in charge of.

If some bugs need to be fixed in the end. I propose that the mapper who started the map get the last word on it (since each mapper will prolly starts one) as long as he doesn't remove what has been made before.

Waiting for Goober's opinion on that point.

I personally think that the map should be checked now and than, to be sure it doesn't have any holes, or that there limits exceeded. or maybe some other stuff like ps2 faces or t-joints that can be fixed.

Sorrow wouldn't map it......she "free'd up" alot of space on her harddrive by DELETING Red Faction. She'd probably pass the job along to her good friend Lace .


*EDIT* I do miss SORROW's maps, she was well on her way to becoming one of the best mappers RF ever had.

ok but i was thinking about this, and im not sure if it should have its own hud and/or player/weapon models? what do you think?
