I think the help text from hermit was old yeah, I just copied/pasted the file that came with the tracker he gave me in here.

I'm assuming SA4 has the fix that was in SA3.6

Still 0 servers listed...

Quoting Garner
[edit]
To quote Hermit himself...

Quoting Hermit

To use [this] tracker as the Master Server, the Master Server option in Red Faction (in the Network tab) must be set to the IP address showing in RF Tracker. [66.135.32.21 or www.redfactionplanet.com]

If you use RF ServerAssist to run a dedicated server [on this tracker] then you can set the "Master Server" option (in the Master server & launch over-ride menu) to the RF Tracker's IP [or domain].

Make sure you update RF ServerAssist to version 3.60. This version has a fix that relates to the Master Server option.

if i use the IP (which i have tried) do i need to know a port number to get it to work? because, i still see nothing unless i chack lan only.

trying now...

[edit]
mmm dont think this is working... either that or a problem my end is preventing me from seeing the games properly.

I can 'see' the game in the server browser in game...

BUT...

Cant ping it.
Cant see map name.
Players is 0/0.
Ping is shown as N/R.

Your IP is now listed 3 times on the tracker. Are you running 3 servers (unlikely tracker shows same port for each server), are you changing maps?

One known issue with the tracker is that PAT (Port Address Translation) will cause problems. Do you know if you're using a router that has this enabled?

did that.
i unchecked the launch override option on the master server and launch override option, and it wouldnt connect at all. it states that if UNchecked it WILL check for the master server before launching, but if UNchecked, it will NOT check first.

ok. go into your game on the new tracker...

I've got a dedi running on the secondary L4Y server. In other words the same box as the tracker is on... see if that works

yeah, thats all I get. Regardless of the number of servers up (even counting on the two actual servers... not the 9 it has listed... 8 of which were your one server duplicated ) it was only saying pinging 0 of 1 server. It never seemed to see other servers...

Trying the older version I had just to see...

calling it a night... the older tracker just crashes RF. The newer one doesn't seem to provide the information needed by the client in order to join/ping/retrieve data from the the servers. Its giving enough for the client to figure out something is there though...
