ok twas both . . pick the best /most stable one & maybe make ongoing provision for these occasional outages (or even the Great Termination everyone fears)
hmm well MATCH's ran for a week np (he even simultaneously up'd one for the WWDemo gang:) |

Worth a try. Did you try hosting a server on it? You wont get anything from it in the server browser obviously as there are no servers listed on it yet 
I've contacted Hermit, if Match's tracker works however and he is willing for it to be hosted here, I'll gladly host it.

Well I just hosted a game and PING! my IP appeared in the master tracker window on the server.

RF doesn't like alt-tabbing does it, my server crashed... master tracker is still there tho
We need a server to switch trackers and then get others to see if they can see the server.

hmm i put in www.redfactionplanet.com as the master serer then tried makin a dedi and it said could not reach master...

Ok i called THQ they said they had an electrical outage on Monday and have been trying to track the problem since then it should be back in 1-2 more days they are not sure yet where the problem is.So keep our fingers crossed that they get their heads on straight and trace the issue so that its back up soon.  |

Ahh yes, the power outage. Tell them the problem usually is because they need to press the power button on front of the machine in order to get it to turn back on again... 
I mean how long can it take to get something going again after power failed and subsequently came back on? |

Precisely. We're not talking a space shuttle here, we're talking about a bunch of server racks in a storage room. Assuming the server itself hasn't suffered physical damage, should take all of 30 minutes to identify and correct the problem.

crashed the game . . as in Alt F4
so i'v emailed MATCH . . have a yak with him Garner, perhaps it's time to finally suss an ongoing alternative tracker solution etc
