Well, once I get my desktop up and running (whenever motherboard,RAM,and procc. get here) Im gonna see how it looks in UT2004 since some textures imported are .tga

I don't think its TGA only as TGA textures is used by almost every game these days it could be many things

But when i look at the screenshots of this problem it looks more like some 3d rendering problem as it looks like polygons are all over the map

This is from a thread in the Nvidia forums

And the hall of mirrors effect is there as well...

I'm running a BFG 88-- GTS 640, Quad 6600 (sobe go quad its fantastic) Abit IN9 32X MAX ,4 sticks =4 gig of OCZ 8500. I think this problem is with all 8800's. I play BF2 and 2142 all good to go. Just RF holding this bad boy back.

Heres a question for you techies, ( shame I wanna try this).

I'm considering installing (this weekend) A 6800 in the 2nd express slot and disableing the 8800 when playing RF.

What you guys think? At least till they fix the drivers . Of course a kvm switch also.

Nah mate, the next upgrade will be to an E6550 or E6750 since the E6600s will be discontinued. And purchasing a Core 2 Quad... No point since Intel was too lazy to produce a true quad core with 4 cores within a single die shrink. AMD will have that quad core released soon enough.

And I've tested/benchmarked the Q6600, Q6700, E6600, and E6700. The Q6600 shows too little an improvement for the price. The Quad 6700 shows a bit more performance, but still not worth the price/performance ratio. However, on July 22nd if anyone is interested, Intel will be having a large price cut on procs, and the Core 2 Quad 6600 will be priced at $266.

And about your inquiry, that will probably be one of the only choices available for if you want to play RedFaction. Of course though, I dunno how well the drivers would conflict with each other though.

The 8800 GTS is the DX10 card, right? If so then the problem may be NVidia's implimentation of the new DX. It may not be fully compatible with previous DX versions. DX9 seems to work fine, but have you tried any other DX7 games?
