Well since CDC's dont ahve their own sub forums for each CDC and with CDCs having problems, here is a forum to post and discuss things for my CDC.

While I was working with HaloUT I started working on converting Bloodgulch. Well even after I left HaloUT I continued working on it to release it in a Halo to UT mappack. Bloodgulch is first then to be followed by either Wizard (right now ahs major framerate issues due to the BSP being directly ported from halo which Halo's BSP has craplaods of vertices due to it all being meshes) or a even bigger possiblity, Sidewinder. As for Bloodgulch, here are some shots taken yesterday.

its looking sharp man, but the inside of the base seems a tad high, or maybe thats me...

So OutlawSkot33, are you are really doing is another version of this file. The base looks way different and hopefully it doesn't have those annoying walls that I always room into when getting the enemy's flag:

VCTF - Blood Gulch


There is a final version, which I have and I just noticed that it isn't on the site. I have over 200 VCTF levels and this site only has 161.

Maybe I should upload it to the site. That file and a few other VCTF maps that are fairly new and that the site could use.

Beat: Halo's dimensions compared to UT2k4: UT2004 is between 175-200 times bigger than Halo. Most of the time its 175, but with bloodgulch, in order for you to get up the ramps to get on the base, I had to scale it up to 200 so the player models could get up there.

It's looking pretty damn cool so far man!!!

A bit more detail here and there would be nice. Also did you make those mountains in RED? Ued has awesome terrain displacement technology... just use it!!!

That version might be crap but the final version is fun with bot support and a somewhat favorite with the people I usually play. We don't play it as often as I have the server running on random. With over 164 maps in the list, it's rare. I have more maps installed on the server PC but like you stated, some levels are crap and they don't get a place in the rotation. The Map Mixer program rules, it even allows you modify the bot teams and how good the bots will be with ease.
One other thing I forgot to mention is that I hope the level will have more vehicles than the ones I see on the screen shot. Maybe some more scorpions and hell benders.

When do you expect your level to be done. I am always looking for new and exciting VCTF levels. Your level seems to be a bit bigger than the other one, which would/might give it a slower pace.
Just one other question, are you going to be adding any speed amplifiers to the level. I don't know what they are called, but I hope you know what I am talking about, the thing that makes your car have a short burst of speed when you drive above it.

Ferrit: O.O No they wernt. I tried using the terrain tool to do this but 1.) It would look like CRAP just liek the one Frank pointed out and 2.) It would be a CENSORED to get it right. So the ground terrain, and caves are static meshes ported from Halo, and those cliffs are from the map in Halo converted to UT2k4 BSP. I couldnt UV them in 3DS Max 6 so I ported the mesh to UED, converted to BSP and UVed them by hand.

Frank: For vehicles, currently there is just the Manta and Hellbender. Hellbender = LAAG Warthog and Manta = Ghost. I might put in a Scorpion but the rest, no. It would become too unfair for infantry if I had a manta or a goliath in there. I dont know when it will be done. I still have to get the trees and rocks in that you see in Halo. ANother words, I have to UV scenery and get it in. After that, I need to re-path the bot paths in the center of the map so they take two or mor eroutes instead of one route that they currently take through the center. So far they will walk across, drive across or better yet, teleport to the middle and walk across from there. [Edit:] No Frank, i wont have any thing to speed your vehicle up. They wernt in Halo, they wont be in here.

Update:

Had to put in a KillZ. Somehow the bots were falling through the map and ending up underneath. I noticed though, it was only happening to the Red team (Quote from Red Vs Blue: "Kill the Red, Kill the Red"). For some reason with ONSVehicleFactory for the Red team's Scorpion, the bot would jump in, and die. Odd. Currently, the bots jump into the vehicles and then get right back out for driver positions, though in the Hellbender, they will jump into the side or rear and stay, odd. Going to use SVehicleFactorys for the vehicles and see if that helps out. A while ago when I had the vehicles set to HaloUT, the bots would use the vehicles and go after the flag..now they let the vehicles sit there, going to put in RoadPathNodes....

I also asked AngelMapper to do something for me with regards to powerups, so waiting for a reply from her. Im also trying to figure out on how to get atleast one bot on each team to act as a sniper. If anyone could help me out, ide appreciate it.

Well Ive gotten most scenery static meshes in. Still have to UV one tree, fix the UVs on another, UV all those boulders (grr those are a PAIN!). Ive fixed the skybox which I had rotated wrong before.

Ive decided on how Im going to do play testing though. If Frank here wants to, he can run it on his server for playtesting online sinc eI do the offline testing right now.

Well, when im ready to send it to you, it will be through rapidshare. The map and its current required files zipped weighs at 36mb

www.rapidshare.de is site that host files for free. Makes it easy to transfer files between people.

So is Project torlan dead Outlaw?

Its a shame even though it wasnt made by you I really enjoyed whizzing around in Halo vehicles on Blood gulch... the speed just felt good.

Once again I should thank Frank for the CD with them all on... the sidewinder maps on the disk are rubbish though

I would have loved Porject Torlan to have finished. its a shame im such a crappy modder.
