OK I finally got around to testing it. The bots seem to do well in this level but I got a few problem I need to address to you:


1. I use Akimbo Arena for Dual weapons. For whatever reason. I am not getting dual weapons on the Flak Canon:


1.1 Also the only way to get dual weapons in this level if if I frag another player and take his weapon away. I have a mod that makes the player drop all the weapon that he is carrying.

2. I am use to being able to walk across the weapon twice to get the dual weapon of that type of weapon I just walked over(picked up). I can't in this map. I even waited for a long time and still nothing. Why not add ammo where the weapon are placed as well?

3. I don't like the way the weapons seem to rotate on their sides. Also would they look better if the were in those weapon closets?

4. Why did you add an assault rifle. Don't we already spawn with that weapon any way. It's like adding a pistol in Red Faction. Makes no sense.

5. You need more weapons and ammo spread out. You tend to run out of ammo, then you can't pick up the weapons as ammo when the server is set to weapons stay.

6. What's the purpose of the invisible thing inside the caves? I mean you can run a server with that combo enabled, there is no need for that in the level or any level for that matter. Also wouldn't a redeemer or a ion painter be better in there?

Hmm.

1 and 2: It might be due to the mutator your using. The weapons are placed on the map in a way that they do not use weaponbases.

3: This might be due to the mutator your using. With default settings and no mutators or mods, they do not rotate.

4: In default settings, no mods or mutators, when you pick it up, you get a second assault rifle.

5: The weapons are set to the way they are in Halo placement and equivilant wise.
Flak Cannon = Shotgun
Assault Rifle = Assault Rifle
Link Gun = Plasma Rifle
Lightning Gun = Sniper Rifle (trail left by the shot)
Avril = Rocket Launcher
In Halo, there is no ammo laying on the map.
As for the weapon stay, hmm, I think WeaponStay for me is always on, and I can still pick them up for ammo. Ill check. I have an idea in my head as Im typign this that might fix it if I do come across something.

6: There are two WildcardBases that spawn the invisibility and Overshield (well, shield belt pickup really). The invisibility pickup is there for use in Online play. They are also in the same spots they are in Halo.

Like I said b4, why add a weapon you already spawn with. With weapons stay, you can.t even use it as ammo.

For the weaponstay mentioned by frank, I came up with a solution for it that benifits both those with weaponstay off or on.

Timberland shots: they got deleted, i need to take new ones, but that wont be tilllllllll, i update the map itself with a fixed stream UV...and red base added.

UGH. When trying to do a rebuild lighting in Timberland, UED crashes. I guess Ive reached what my computer's RAM can handle lol. When it comes to the "Zoning" part of the Lighting rebuild it takes too long and UED crashes. Oh Well. Here is a screenshot of blue bases with lighting.



I think Ill try working on IceFields instead of Timberland.

Hey Frank. if you could, take Bloodgulch off your server for now.
Im going to finish BG and then Ill resend two of its vCTF versions once its done. This way, if anyone wants to play it, they have to goto your server. lol.

Anyways, UPDATE.

Timberland, no luck. I think Im going to scrap it. My computer and UED dont like the BSP when doing a Lighting rebuild because of the amoutn of polys, which is due to the porting of the BSP from Halo. In Halo, BSP and terrain are static meshes, which means werever there is a vertice, there is a division in that face of the brush... So I end up with a brush with polys up the ahole. My copy of 3DS Max 6 is messed up right now and refuses to work, and my disk that had the installation files on it, is corrupted. So I cant do any brush optimizing on the BSP before importing it into UED... I also have another idea on to do get the BSP ported over with no problems, but, I still need Max. ARGH! With 3DS Max messed up, I cannot do ANYTHING with HaloPC's maps to get them into UED. So I decided on this. Awhiel back before I joined Project Torlan, I had started working on two Halo themed maps, Arlasa and Siyine. With 3DS Max screwing up, that cripples my work on getting Halo maps into UED, SOOOO, that in turn gives me a long needed chance to work on Arlasa and Siyine. Arlasa need major refinement on the outside to improve framerates. After finishing Arlasa, Ill try to finish Siyine.

So now this map pack expands even more lol. Instead of just Halo maps to UT2k4, there will also be custom maps.

OK but just so you know I didn't upload it to the re-direct server only because I didn't think they were the final versions.
When are you going to release the final version?

Well the maps wont be released to the public for download until the map pack is done. As for individual releases, none, except for on your server so people can hope to play them lol.

Yeah, but in Halo, you either die before needing ammo, or jack it from someone else.
If you can't get ammo from the weapons because of WeaponStay problems, (unless those have been resolved) then when you run out of ammo for something, your basically screwed unless you have something that is also effective, and that you are competent with.

Its already fixed. I came up with a nice solution to it.
