I noticed a 4 month gap between RFU3 being released and RFU4 beginning.. it's been about 4 months since RFU4 was released. Time to start thinking about RFU5? Ya there have been lots of topics but most of them went off topic.. I reckon we should start gathering a team and get a theme ready.. |

RFU4 was hardly played... I don't think there is as much enthusiasm towards these RFU packs anymore, not by the players anyways...
There's always enthusiasm from the mappers and that's great to see, but if they're not gonna get played, I hate to say it, but what's the point?  |

I just feel the need to quote myself here. This is a post i made in another RFU5 topic:

i acually think that if we can get a good enough community based team together, we could pull it off. id be happy to map, and i have a few friends who would too, im sure we could find 10 other worthy mappers from this site to participate. you never know, a good enough map pack could be just what the RF community needs to "kick-start" its engine 
as for themes, that are fairly broad, but not too broad, i think that "music" was wayyyy to broad... thats why alot of maps went off theme. but if we can come up with a good theme, like say, winter would be good, or deafult type maps, or run maps. or just detail maps |

Music was a good theme.. gave people the chance to express themselves artistically. Unluckily, the RF community is so loose nowadays, the maps hardly got played. Even still, they are there, shows we still love RF. Making more of these map packs would be great, even if they don't get played, it shows we've all put time and effort into it, and hopefully, learnt new mapping tricks and techniques..
Anyways, I just feel there should be another.. make it a nice round number.. well 5 ain't that round but it's better than 4. |

i just got a great RFU5 idea, realistic levels, like say, doungon, war type levels. or just anything realistic, thats preety broad and should due for some preety detailed nicely constructed levels |

I havn't seen anyone in here that's produced a really highly detailed map tbh

oh and i made a very realistic looking fire .vbm which is in that map, heres a GIF version of it
and yes, it has a transparent background |

How about a gor themed map? Some maps might have blood oozing out of the walls or when you enter certain rooms you hear things.Or if anybody has a pic of the kid in F.E.A.R with a transparent background why not convert it into tga and make it a tga? Then some player eneters a room and sees her for awhile  |
