Quoting mad_ferrit | Perhaps remove the default wav files like you suggested earlier, and all that's left is the screenshot |
I'll make sure that they are default sounds first. If they are then I will remove them from the .vpp. No point in having the file size bigger then it needs to be.
There only seems to be a few but every little bit helps those that are on dial up. |

Thanks guy for all your help. Thanks mad for the compliments Tonight Ill have a screen shot posted here to go with the update. Also, I had no idea what ps2 faces were. Now I know and that will definitely help with my next creation. Thanks Mad. You guys have been more then just some help, more of an inspiration.
NOTE: The only RF default sounds I used was the steam sounds and wind sound. Thought maybe that info will make it easyier to find
EDIT: Here is a screen shot I thought would catch the eyes of the members.

You're welcome, just had another run round it lol I think the choice of textures without exception are perfect. It's cool to see it when someone really takes the time and effort to get it right! I think you did a top job |

I just noticed the wind sound, which is only 83kb. I guess I can leave it in. Also when you use a default ambient sound, it's a lot easier to get the sound to loop. All that you need is an ambient sound event and it will loop on it's own.

NCF, the steam sounds are called steam02 and steam04. The ambient sound object I just left in there. Was going to add some music but, after playing with it a few rounds I noticed how annoying it was. I had the DOOM 3 theme song in there. It also added 18mbs. Another reason why I took it out Its ok to take out the ambient sound object if you want. If not, all is good either way. Thanks for the tip about the ambient sound event. I may use that in future maps Mad, if you noticed the hallway that's curved, the floor texture is messed! I built that hall then textured everything the way I wanted it before bending the vertexs. I figured if I was to texture everything before bending it, the textures would look good but, that's as far as my skill will take me at this point. That was my first time actually trying to make a curved hall in a map. Also, I knew that changing the ambient lighting to jet black made the objects black but, during my testing, I noticed (in my opinion) it did create darker areas in unlighted areas. The players also became darker in unlighted areas. |

Yeah I noticed that, but the effect is still good in that curved area.
Re: the Ambient Lighting - that's your decision as the mapper not mine

i always use brushes with a 0.01 depth, i just copy and paste the room, then stretch it to 10X10, insted of 5X5, and a 0.01 depth, then move it to the middle of the hallway |
