MICROSOFT'S new version of the Xbox will have a feature that will enable parents to stop their kids playing racy, violent or "adult" games.

According to the Mainichi Daily News, Miss Vole's next generation game box will come equipped with an age restriction feature.

The kids’ ages will have to be entered into the console in advance and software that has an age restriction above that age cannot be played.

Spinsters from the Redmond Vole’s nest told the Daily News that the console reads data from the DVD when the software is loaded, including the age restriction for that software. It will also restrict access to voice-chat sites.

The censorship feature will be introduced in consoles in Europe and the United States. Working out how to bypass the feature will probably the first thing every young European hackers’ to-do list.µ

This could help parents everywhere keep kids from playing Mature rated games such as Playboy: The Mansion. Or even violent FPS games.

I hope they keep that feature.

Hopefully that feature really comes as standard since o_o who's responsibility it in last hand to watch what kind of games their kids play ?

Also manual howto use this feature has to be clear enough and function has to be a part of system installation inorder to make this feature to work propely ?

PS. For what that moderation things get applied ? Just asking because I want to avoid it.

Ah 'tis a good idea although i'd say alot of parents wouldn't know how to turn an xbox on. My Da can't even use a mobile.

You would think if they call it Xbox they would make it a box ... not a sphere.

It is a box, just a slightly curvaceous box. It's not however whatever that thing that Skiprat posted is, despite the fact that would be very cool.

Yeah the old site had a bunch of pictures of all 3 new consoles... from E3. I thought that those were the final designs. That thing he posted looks nothing like the one shown at E3. The one at E3 was square-ish and the middle was curved in.

Yes the Xbox360 control has an L1 L2 R1 R2 thing like the PS2 because the black and white buttons were a major upset on the Xbox Control and it has been predicted it will cost about $300(US) on launch
P.S. Still Alive.
