Hi every1,
I have this problem allmost a year;
On my desktop, sometimes there apear icons like 'dating' 'Cellphone ringtones' and stuff like that first time i cant click it with my right mouse button so i couldnt not delete it. I HAVE Spy sweeper, and norton antivirus 2005 but they dont c it ! Finally i could get a right click on the icons, but when i did that there only comes up in the right click menu 'Delete' (and my computer is dutch so) so if i click it, its gone, but i know its still there cuz its not in the trashbag. some days later, the icons are back. and i do the same (this is allmost a year going).
My favorites: In my favorites there are maps from it to that i cant delete ! there doesnt happens anything when i click on it with my right mouse button ! And last but SURE not least. There is a litle search bar that allways comes up with my internet browser !!!
Does any1 has this problem 2 ? Or knows how to delete it ?
And then another thing: i allways get ads from 'Adult friend finder' but i am not busy with those things and if my mother sees the adds i will be banned from computer cuz there are some sex things into the add !!!!!!  |

Maybe you should stick off using computers since this kind of hostile spyware comes only from suspicious sites or to computer what's protection level is below the zero or in other words not existing.
Problem looks like you got nicely huge collection of hostile software on your computer and they do now what they want(or are coded to do). So your computer is classed as zombie and are therefore extreme highlevel security risk.
Problem has mainly being caused by internet connection what is broadband speed and has no ANYKIND of firewall (not even it window xp's own) and only god of geeks knows howmuch you got spyware in hard drive and there is only one permanent solution for this. atleast 10 times made formation of hard drive in LINUX or some other NOT windows related operating system.
So my unfortunate recomendation is that IF you are not capable of keeping PC in control abandon using it.
This is because this kind of clean up will come very expensive, and still there is no 100% gurantee that problem is permanently helped. |

K if there is a Search bar in the address bar area you may be able to delete it from your system.
Right click on an empty space in the address bar area and you should get a dropdown list with selectable options ie. "Standard Buttons", "Address Bar" etc. Look for the Search bar one to find the name of it. Once you have the name do a system search for the name and delete anything that looks like it may be causing it ... this will not get rid of it. To get rid of it now you have to go through the registry and search for the name again and delete anything that resembles the name you are searching for. If you are really not sure what something is then do not touch it as this may make things not work anymore.
Also note if you are not a confident "Capable" computer user then you should not try to alter anything in the registry.
These types of things are usually brought up by the user going to less than legal sites as they prey on the weak who visit these sites.
And for "Adult Friend Finder" that is a popup that is found at certain sites or you have a virus that causes it to popup.

do you use MSN? if so more virises and spywere come off MSN then any one website or othewr chat program, my advice is to stop using it. i find that yahoo dont carry much spywere,
get pop-up stopper that will take care of those, or it could be just you are going onto sites that have pop-ups on them  get pop-up stopper or dont go on those sites any more
and if when you delete the icons, they come back that sounds like you have a worm, my advice is to do a low-level format, then reload say yahoo NOT MSN, RF, and maby some other games you are interested in, put back on norton 2005 and spysweeper (i never personally used spysweeper, i use spybot - scearch and destroy, or sky subtract), run weekly viris scans, when they are available, run any live updates of your norton viris definitions, run weekly, or even run it while your sleeping every night, your spywere program
this should stop it
PS. do not bother to just run all those things now, most virises, if norton doesnt pick up them before hand, will be un-detectable to norton, same with spysweeper, you have to run the low-level format.
this should help if you follow my instructions

also i dont see how your mother could get mad about a pop-up, unless she doesnt know anything about the internet whatsoever |

use adaware. google for it and that will clear it.
to the person that said use linux - doh thats going to be hard for him isnt it.
i can barely install stuff on linux myself! |

(off topic) goober if you think msn brings spyware and other viruses then u have issues..the only way ur going to get malicious software on your pc vis msn is by accepting files from ppl that have the malicious software.
(on topic) Ghostkid, if you want to really get rid of all these problems you have on your computer you can either do a really thourough hd swipe via DBAN, or you can visit the virus removal section at MajorGeeks.com.
i would reccomend you use the help services at MajorGeeks.comand if they cant help you then make use dban and reformat your computer.

hmm I had the same icons on my desktop about a year, ago and I clicked one of them and it brought me to a site and at the bottom of the page in small writing there was a link on how to get rid of the icons. so I clicked the link and it told me to download this program, http://lop.com/new_uninstall.exe so I downloaded it and ran it and the icons all dissappeared and never returned.  so if you have the same icons I had then that program should get rid of them.  [yellow]*Note* if you click the link and it just brings you to a web page and doesn't bring up a download box, then copy and paste the url into a download manager, like Download Accelerator Plus, and it should work. |

Except me
Spyware, Malware, and Viruses can be very hard to remove sometimes ... most of the ones that just (do not delete) have auto installers built in to your computer somewhere and your virus/spyware/malware blocker is not cleaning that part out.
i would got get some programs like Spybot S&D, at Download.com |

look the only thing my posty was about was how to help him, that part about MSN was only to point out that i dont and will never trust MSN, its done far more harm then good to everyone i know |

wow, your computer sounds screwed.
its true that someone said something about that kind of viruses coming from suspicious websites. usually pirated software websites are the #1 cause of them, and alot of websites hosting disturbing death / porn pictures.
I'm not saying thats the kind fo websites you go to, just from what i have seen, those kind of sites seem to have viruses, malware, trojans, you name it.
Finally, personally I have had MSN messenger for a long time and i have yet to get a virus come directly from that program.

And PLEASE PLEASE would someone wanna explain what is an download accelelator ???????!!!!! I keep hearing say every1 that !

I thought you were 13 years old Goobster, and you own a computer company.. so do you mean a company that makes and distributes computers, or a workshop that repairs them. I have been using MSN for about 3 years and I dont get bugs... have got bugs from entering the wrong sites at times but they are easy to get rid of, if you know how.. visit hijackthis.dk |
